@nail1988 in the head. It's safe for your Okie ass to come back here and give us your thoughts on who should be the new OC at OU.

If Brent Vennables wants to continue coaching at OU, he better choose his OC wisely. He's in for a major disappointment if he ultimately chooses Cousin Eddie.

As long as he doesn’t rely on him to recruit. He’s a innovative offensive mind that can devise a plan to kick a$$. I hope he stays where he is.

dad has a hard on for Dan…

But the truth is Dan is a serious coach…head…coordinator…or otherwise…

Dude knows what he is doing…

He won’t take an OC job though…if fact, he’s likely done…broadcasting has been good for him.
He also sucks at broadcasting. ESPN felt sorry for him the way they felt sorry foe Bill Curry.

Mullen would be alright as an OC at a big school but not sure he would take that job except if an NFL team offered it. I don't think any higher level power 4 team will offer him a head coach position now.

Mullen thrived as an OC. Where he sucked was recruiting as the HC

He was also the play caller at Miss State and at UF after Trask, Pitts, Toney, and Grimes left. Let's not forget Mullen also kept Franks as the starter well before he got injured. If Franks didn't go out with an injury against Kentucky, we lose that game in 2019.
Great play calling against a garbage Mizzou team in 2021.

If you could somehow meld Dan Mullen and Ron Zook into a single individual. Wow.

could be great, unless you get the undesirable by product..

3* Dan is a excellent offensive mind and would clean up the offense. He only would have to recruit the QB. He and BV are good friends but I the think cousin Eddie wants a HC gig.. OU would take Dan Merlin's for sure

My Guess who they will get either

Arbuckle from Washington state
Craddock from Tulane

Would keeping Franks be similar to keeping Mertz with DJ on the bench?

Oh so NOW he’s Cousin Eddie. That was a ban-worthy offense at one time. Ask me how I know.

If you had paid attention to a reply I gave you about this, I clearly told you how I received a warning from Paco about the Cousin Eddie reference. For some reason, we're only allowed to call Mullen Cousin Eddie only before and after he was the coach at UF.

I also have an idea who brought it to Paco's attention. Nobody here called Mullen Cousin Eddie more than I did.
