One Quick Note – UF Coaches:
I am not getting into which ones, but Florida coaches headed out yesterday to San Antonio for the coaching convention. It runs from Saturday to Wednesday, where all the magic happens regarding coaching hires, etc. Florida is going out there specifically to interview a few people. Even though it runs through Wednesday, most people head out on Tuesday. Sunday/Monday is when all the jockeying for position happens.
Note on Miami – Some familiar names have popped up for both the OC/DC – Mario is working/focusing on getting the offensive side of the ball finished first. If both guys get hired, I have heard from in the last 48-hours, this thing will get real interesting in the Sunshine state, in my opinion. I can also tell you if the Houston DC ends up at Miami, look for T-Rob to take off. If the other guy gets the DC job, T-Rob will stay, so it will cause a domino effect depending on who takes the job. All of a sudden, recruiting is fun again!!!
I did catch up with Malik Bryant last night late. A few months ago, I can tell you that he was a pipe dream for the Gators – Now? If he visits in January, which he should – I think the Gators are squarely the team to beat for his services.
This might take me a minute, but I am working on a few things with some folks in Gainesville to paint a picture for you behind the scenes regarding the new staff and what each person will be doing. It is a BIG ask I made, so we will see how it goes – that will not be in the next week or so but hopefully sometime soon.
