I hate the Noles, but have to give them props for their baseball team getting on a roll in the NCAA tournament. From being 1 of the last 4 selected to the CWS is quite an accomplishment, especially the way they did it. Rolling through the Athens, GA regional and pounding #4 Georgia twice, then going to #13 LSU for the Supers and winning 2 straight at the best home field crowd in D1 baseball. Players laying it on the line for their coach in his last hurrah. Can't pull for them to win the CWS, but kudos for getting there.

Lots of upsets this year in baseball. Unranked Michigan took out #1 UCLA last night and unranked Auburn put up 13 runs in the Top if the 1st on North Carolina just now in the deciding game of their Super Regional.

Good for Mike Martin. He's run a clean program. They are certainly hot right now, and the field is wide open. I do think they caught a bit of a break as I felt dawgs and lsu were both very overrated.

Pretty much this.

Martin is an ok guy, but I like FSU never having a baseball title way too much to root for them.
I didn't say I was rooting for them to win the CWS. I could never do that. I'm just impressed with what may be the weakest team at FSU in 40 years has accomplished just getting there. We beat them 3 times and yet they're there and we're not. Shows you what focus, emotion and playing your tails off for a coach you love can do. Mike Martin has won more games as a college coach than any coach in any sport. He seems like a total class act to me. And yet he's never won a national title. Amazing. Kind of like what our Mary Wise has done in volleyball. 23 SEC titles, 5th most volleyball wins in NCAA history, 2nd highest winning percentage in D1 volleyball, 8 Final 4's, 3 coach of the year awards and 0 national titles.

Thanks. And very classy.

This is the team we thought we had in February. Injures were the pits. Maybe we are finally getting hot at the right time.

But kudos to the Gators, you have scoreboard.

Pretty much what matters is FSU is still playing, we ain't
Your batters sure have a good eye for pitches.

I am of two minds concerning this.

One is that FSU looks to be doing what they always seem to do, which is get to the CWS, then fall apart.

The other is I have long been of the opinion that FSU is in their own heads in the CWS, that they always get tight, that if they were ever to win it it would have to be a year when nobody expected them to get there and therefore there were no expectations placed on them, so they could play loose. This year sure looks like that.

It sounds bad but I'm kinda pulling for good ol' Martin. Go out with that monkey off the back, would be monsoon tears all around.

sadgator actually watched FSU’s win over Arkansas with absolutely no emotion whatsoever...

It must be old age...
I just got more and more frustrated that the Arkansas hitters consistently failed to adjust to the FSU pitcher and realize that he was throwing change-ups 75% of the time. He pitched a heckuva game, but come on!!

That's on the coaches. Weren't they charting his pitches? 3-4 innings in you gotta tell your boys "when you have one strike, sit on the changeup." Or wherever in the count he's throwing that thing.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 30 times, I must be an Arkansas baseball coach.

I started this thread, but NO I can't pull for FSU to win a title in any sport any time. Sorry.
I get it. I'm not a native Floridian so didn't grow up in all that hatred.....I really only hate them in football and some basketball now since they've been beating us lately. Outside of football I don't really have emotions in the rivalry. I actually hate Miami and their fanbase more than FSU but that's because they are arrogant hood trash and similar to the arrogant hood trash types in the NY/NJ metro area.

Well congratulations to FSU and 11 for making the CWS. Now we can go back to laughing at them never winning one. :p

I also hope to not see Michigan win it but if they do, oh well.

Lord of No Rings...

I’ll miss how he was able to get the nolies expectations up and let them down every single year.

Go Canes!

Florida's football and baseball coaches are now longer tenured than FSU's.

That's a switch.

It was the worst case scenario. With the fact of the ACCN starting in august and our pedigree as a program, we should have been able to hire a quality coach and or a top notch up and commer.

This lacks complete imagination on the point of the AD.

Several major issues with this. Not a winning play to follow a legend. Not a winning play to be hired by someone who will NOT be the AD very long by design. Tough to be hired a year after making the CWS.
