Congrats Gators Fans!

What a game! I won’t go to sleep for a while now….so pumped!
Today is going to be a long one. Too excited to go to sleep after the win. Not a huge basketball fan, but this team captivated me to watch them. After our 3 football nattys(I was at the UF-OU game in 09 for my birthday) this was my favorite win as a Gator. The resilience and tenacity of this team to keep coming back was exciting to watch. Thanks to Danny Wuerffel for choosing to go to UF(my hometown boy here in FWB) and making me a Gator fan.

I'm in here being a nice guy and you gotta bring up this old sh!t?

UF definitely would have wore down Cooper Flagg and Puke the same way Houston did.

LOLOL Last nights game was really special. not only because we won, but my wife was really in to the games. So sharing the win with her was really nice, ESPECIALLY since in 2009 she paid the whole way(tickets and air fare included) to this game, and I never left my seat(except to get rid of the beer she bought for me during the game. Funny part of this is she also bought a REALLY nice Cab that we were going to drink when we returned to the room after the game. We woke up with glasses poured with all our clothes still on, with an hour and a half until our flight departed. HELL of a time! and we made the flight.

Congrats guys, way to represent the SEC. Historic run for the conference, IIRC, we set a record for most teams to make the 68 field (14), the 64 team field (13), the Sweet Sixteen (7) and tied the record for number of Elite Eight teams (4) and Final Four teams (2).

Capped by a Gator NC. Well done all.

And if you think that one sucked...you should look at the 1995 game when Nebraska made our undefeated team look like a HS team. The worst beatdown I have ever taken as a fan.
The next year just made it so much sweeter as semenhole fans clowned us about losing to Nebraska. Mr SFB Mickey Andrews even bragged about learning so much from Nebraska after their 24-21 regular season win in 1996. Blobby Bowden, yes Blobby, knew his team was screwed when we were awarded a rematch in the Sugar Bowl. Some of them will live to be 100 years old and still be pissed about losing on January 2nd of 1997.

I'll see you that game and raise you the 2005 Orange Bowl where OU got curb stomped 55-19 by the fighting Reggie Bushes.

They vacated the natty for cheating, but they sure as sh!t didn't give it to us.

That Sugar Bowl is my favorite game of all time. I HATE FSU. (actually just the fans.)

Greatest Sugar Bowl of all time was 1986

#8 UT 35 - #2 Miami 7

Lee Greenwood singing Proud to be American at half time and the crowd erupts at the verse "hills of Tennesse" which Greenwood pauses to speak instead of singing.

Playing with a 2nd string QB.
UTs 3rd string RB outruns vaunted Miami secondary. Domination.

Clip starts at the 60 yrd td run. Listen to commentary on replay.

Oh and that 2nd string QB? Daryl Dickey son of Doug Dickey.

Johnny Majors was a helluva coach. Damn if he had had Fulmer's payroll then....wow.

One thing I think we can all agree on, Frank Broyles and Keith Jackson were the best announce team in College football history.

Majors and Johnson were both on Broyles staff. I believe Johnson even spent a brief time under Majors. What killed me was Broyles never brought up the tie-ins between himself and the two coaches. AND I don't recall anyone b!tching about Broyles or Jackson. Both class acts.

As for Majors. He was too conservative an offensive play caller.

Yep ole Stallings retired right before the hammer came down on Bammer.

I almost felt guilty cheering on George Teague when he stripped that ball at the one yard line.

But it was a thing of beauty

Bebes followed the 'I don't want to know' model when it came to boosters. Most SEC coaches did the same, including most at UT.

A few were active participants in the process. Fulmer was one. Hugh Freeze was another.

Broyles : Over thirty of his former players have also become college or professional football coaches. Broyles is known for producing high quality coaches and the prestigious Broyles Award, the annual award for best assistant coach, is named after him. Barry Switzer, Johnny Majors, Joe Gibbs, Hayden Fry, and Jimmy Johnson all served under Broyles and have combined to win five collegiate national championships and six Super Bowls. Broyles' assistants have won more than 40 conference titles. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones played on Broyles' 1964 Championship team. - Wiki

Majors was under Broyles from 64-67.
Johnson was under Broyles from 73-76.
Johnson was under Majors from 68-69 at Iowa State.

No blurb about any of this was said during the game.

Broyles coached under Bobby Dodd and Bob Woodruff. Both UT men and disciples of Gen Neyland making Broyles part of the Neyland legacy.

UT ran NCAA stop signs.

Bammer was a mob boss.
SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer went to what school?

Bama definitely cheated when Dubose was there. Even with Logan Young paying 6 figures for Tennessee's top players, we still lost most of them to Knoxville.

It is what it is. In the end both proggrams got what they deserved.

SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer went to what school?
Maryville college. Coached at Central Michigan where he won the 1974 NCAA div II NC and was AD at Vandy.

Was inducted into the ALABAMA Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.

LOL

LOL. What was it 18 total years of probation on and off? TPTB loved them some Bryant or it would have been a whole lot more. Dubose wasn't there but for a short time. Shula and Curry were clean as far as I could tell. Former was a dud but Curry was treated badly at Bammer.

LOL. Nothing like the beauty of them Tennessee Hills.

Yes we paid heavily for the Mike Hamilton hire. Stupid tax as they say. Didn't get it turned around until Danny White came to town.

But SMU might differ with you.

And what year was he inducted into the Tennessee Sports HOF?

Yes Bryant was buying players, Roy Adams and Phillip Fulmer were the clean ones.

Irrelevant. Your implication was that he was a UT homer and crooked. Now you may be right about the crooked part because he was inducted into the rammer jammer yellow hammer HOS

Based on the Adams/ Young rivalry I would say no. I've been told Bryant admitted to stuff in a book.

You guys still miffed at Fulmer for giving "states evidence?"

Spurrier gave the same testimony but I never hear Bammers moan about him.

Stalling was a piece of shit. The look on his face when Spurrier undressed him in the SEC title game was priceless after another bomb over his DBs. I've never hated Bamer, but I sure as shit hated his ugly mug, as well as Fat Phil Fulmer's. It's a shame you have to live with the legacy of Junior and Lulu, that is hilarious. 😂

We never beat out Spurrier for any recruit he wanted. Only one we did was Justin Smiley. He turned us in over that and even Richie J said there was nothing there. Fulmer never did either and Spurrier never turned him in either.

In 2011 Tenneesee basketball coach Bruce Pearl was busted cheating by the NCAA and hit with a 3-year Show Cause.

In 2023, SEVEN Tennessee football coaches (SEVEN) were busted cheating by the NCAA and hit with Show Causes.

Wow. 2023? These days with the portal and NIL, how the hell does anyone cheat? That takes some initiative! 😂

Hmmm curious.

Show cause was for lying to NCAA not the impermissible BBQ attendance by recruits. This was going to jail for committing perjury over a jaywalking ticket.

LOL that would be Jeremy Pruitt and crew. Alabama alum and former Alabama DC. UT turned him into the NCAA in 2020, fired him for acting like a bammer ( 60K passed out in chick fil a bags) and being an inept inbred who couldn't win even while cheating. He is from Rainsville, LOL, Ala. Yeppers a town where it rains. Must have been some wizard of smart ancestor of Pruitt's to come up with that name.

When he comes off probation maybe South West Alabama State community college can hire him to coach football and Tiddly Winks.

"Pruitt, his wife and several members of his football staff provided about $60,000 of impermissible benefits and recruiting inducements to more than two dozen recruits and their families during his three years as head coach at Tennessee. As a result, on July 14, 2023, Pruitt was handed a six-year show-cause order for his role in providing impermissible benefits, effective until July 13, 2029. The NCAA harshly criticized Pruitt for failing to control the program, as well as for failing to cooperate with Tennessee and the NCAA enforcement staff during the investigation. If Pruitt is hired by another NCAA member school during this time, he will be suspended for the entire first season of his return. "- Wiki

5 years ago and I think we are still on self imposed scholarship reductions. NIL makes that meaningless now.
Not the most attractive couple but they look like decent folks.

He is leaving out some info. The violations were in 2020. If the NCAA was a fire department whole towns would burn down before the first firetruck would make it out of the garage.

UT admitted guilt, fired the offenders, self imposed an acceptable punishment and has moved on.

I'll edit this cause as much fun as it is to discuss cheating with UT fans, it's also shitting on a good thread that @fatman76 started.

BTW to bring this full circle, I saw somethin on IG yesterday, when Pearl was hired at Auburn, his first director of operations was....Todd Golden.

The SAME Todd Golden? Golden is young. Don't make me look this up. 😂

When we played LSU for the natty in the 2004 Sugar Bowl I almost got my face rearranged for chirping back "Gator Bait" at them.

I did it twice and decided that wasn't a good idea anymore.
When LSU fans get that look in their eye it’s hard to say what they’ll do.
