If you actually had a clue what you were talking about, you would know that Sanders wants to ban offshore drilling, ban leases to take oil, coal, etc out of public lands and ban fracking. Nothing about nationalizing anything. I, personally, don't think sweetheart lease deals to suck oil out of public land is something we should be doing, and only idiots like fracking. Offshore drilling can certainly wait until technology improves to the point we won't have any more BP's.

This country had such an oil glut - and natural gas too BTW - that it simply had to bring down that law, written during the oil shortage caused by OPEC back in the day. Is historic perspective and background a foreign concept to you?

THAT is cold war mode thinking if ever there was. Back decades ago when we thought the planet would be out of oil by now. Instead, new technologies have created an OIL GLUT, and supply will only continue to exceed demand as these technologies continue to advance, allowing us access to even more stashes of petroleum that are currently inaccessible.

Medical care would be paid with TAXES. This would be offset by the elimination of insurance premiums. Does it matter if you have to pay 12K a year in medical taxes if you stop paying 12K a year in medical premiums? Feels like a wash to me.
And if the only purchaser of prescription medicine is the government, guess who is setting the prices? Cost control could be a real thing. Don't know about you, but I don't like hearing that these drug companies are selling drugs overseas at 10% of the price they charge here because they can charge what they like here and they can't in other places.
Medicine and insurance are in dire need of reform. But the insurance companies, with all that money, send out their stooges to scream SOCIALISM and you people eat it up. Oh nos, not the big bad socialism! Help us! Save us from affordable healthcare!
As for NATO costs, don't make me laugh. The US spends 600 billion a year on the military but only 30 billion of that is directly spent on Europe, while Europe, collectively, spends about 8 times as much. I posted an article for you to read. Now, about the military. We spend 600 billion a year with 1.3 million troops. Do you realize that is about 450 THOUSAND dollars per person? And yet the military claims they can't afford to take care of vets. And you people eat it up! Start yelling at Congress like the 600 billion a year isn't enough! Then I see memes from Republicans saying we need to increase military spending so our soldiers can get proper equipment. When I see things like that I know our country is doomed. People are just too stupid.

Every time we reduce regulations we have huge problems, like Wall Street crashes. Why do Republicans keep insisting that reducing them is a good thing?
