Going by the current rankings the ACC has 2 ranked teams, Clemson at #1 and Virginia at #25. Clemson doesn’t play UVA so, their win over Texas A&M could be the only ranked team they play until the CFP. That just shows the weakness of the ACC. I wonder if they switched with A&M and played Alabama, Georgia and LSU and then possibly Georgia again or The Gators ( Hey you gotta believe ) in the SECCG if they would run the table? Plus, Etienne or Lawrence ( 2 TD ‘s and 3 int.’s so far ) shouldn’t be considered for any post season awards given they play such a week schedule.

They can only play who is in front of them but doubtful they lose a game with that schedule.

It’s a terrible schedule. ACC is awful. Probably the worst conference of the Power 5.

The acc is a lot better than it was in the 90s when f$u ran and hid there. As long as the noles are getting embarrassed in that conference I’m fine rooting for Clemson. Much better than f$u getting free shots to a tainted title. And at least Clemson is beating someone for their titles. Beating these Alabama teams is an accomplishment. The teams f$u got to play for the title were average teams who floated to the top bc of a weak year in college football in general. Auburn is the best of them and they needed a couple miracles to get there. So Clemson > f$u, basically

Paco,

If you asked that question last year, many knowledgeable fans would have said the PAC 12 ? No CFP birth in years.

I realize that many people look askance at a conference that at this point in the season (2 games in) seems to have only 1 good team. I also feel that being the 1 good team in a weak conference gives you an edge going into the CFP.

I also realize you are talking about the strength of the conference as a whole & not just Clemson; but right now, I take a somewhat different view.

Clemson is not responsible for the strength of the ACC's other schools, & as one poster said they can only play the people on their schedule.

The ACC's 1 good team - Clemson, IS the defending CFP Champion. After the beating they gave Bama in last year's title game & the game they played against aTm this year, its hard to criticize them or the ACC too much this early in the season

Hmm. FSU beat Nebraska, yes that Nebraska, the team that used Spurrier's gator team as toilet paper. VT with Michael Vick, and SEC CHAMPION AUBURN team that ran through the conference like a hot knife through butter. UF beat FSU in a rematch that should have never happened, perennial overrated Ohio State and Oklahoma team that was soft as Charmin.

I wish I could agree with you on this bro, but the more Clemson wins, the more Dabo will be able to cherry pick top Florida talent because of continued success. Screw Clemson, Georgia, Bama, OSU, LSU, and whoever else is out recruiting is for top talent. Might sound like sour grapes, but I severely miss the days where we automatically had the interest of five star talent.

It rarely works like that

They are stronger than their opponents but you nevertheless know

Syracuse played poorly last week but might be better when they play Clemson. Transitive property rarely works unless teams okay identically every week

I miss those days too, but at least f$u isn’t poaching five stars while we flounder. If it hasn’t to be Clemson or the noles that’s an easy choice for me. 2013 was as bad as college football can get. But yeah, it will be nice to start pulling those top guys again... Dabo can’t keep it going forever.
