So to all my haters,It's still Gator Gang!

And another coach leaves day after signing day...

2h2 hours ago
#Bears have hired Stan Drayton as running backs coach; he spent last 4 years at Ohio State, helped Buckeyes win national title in '14.

So I guess Florida's coaches can go on vacation now

My guess is CeCe will meet with the new DL coach when he gets here and then they will sign the NLI.

Still it's a whole load of drama we didn't need. And regardless of what CeCe is saying now, it doesn't change what his dad was tweeting out over the past 24 hours.

Lot of double talk going around. If CeCe is "all Gator", why wait until the new coach can be interviewed? Doesn't that sound like "I'm all Gator as long as I like the coach"?

And if CeCe knew days ago that Williams was leaving, what's up with the "is he really gone" tweet today?

What makes the most sense to me is that the dad got pissed about something within the last few days, threw a public fit, and left his son to do the PR clean-up.

I would bet that the LOI shows up in Gainesville before dark tomorrow.

Twitter and social media is evil. This crap gets more and more out of hand each and every year. Back in the day the family could leave the phone off the hook, now everyone has cell phones and who knows how much messaging traffic is going back and forth for these top level recruits like this.

It's just a circus and the only true winners is ESPN.

Agreed.

I believe CeCe will be a Gator when the smoke clears, and the bottom line is that you guys had a good day Wednesday. The added talent should help give McElwain a fighting chance to get the ship turned next year.

I think I've decided we're taking this too seriously. We have a question mark for his position coach and he and/or his family want to wait and see how the position gets filled. Sounds pretty reasonable to me (at least at this minute).

Twitter, etc. can be carelessly used to add unnecessary drama.

We didn't create this drama. If you are uncertain about coach, simply don't put on the hat. And don't go on the radio giving interviews about how committed you are, and don't post pictures on social media that show how committed you are, and don't give bs excuses to the media as to why you haven't finalized the deal. Just be honest and wait.

Whether the underlying reason to not commit is valid or not, this young man, and his weirdo family inner circle clearly come from the Kardashian school of publicity. He is a problem before day one with him.

I just think we're obsessed fanatics. We act personally insulted like the kid told us to shove it. NSD isn't any kind of a deadline it's just the first day they can sign.

I'm just going thru the rationalization phase.

Yes we're fans, and yes we really want him to sign here as he's one of the cornerstone pieces of this class. We reaaaaally could use him as the next Fowler Jr. in 2016 and 2017.

What we can do without is the whole announcing on ESPN early on NSD, then spending the rest of the day giving interviews, not sending in the paperwork like everyone else, and then spending the next day giving out conflicting tweets from everyone associated with your family. I want to come. He's not coming. I'm all Gator. He'll never sign with Florida. It's that media circus that we all laughed at Auburn for on NSD with Cowart.

I fully believe that Florida is where the kid wants to be, I just don't buy that the father can hold the kid ransom from a school because the position coach decides to take an NFL job the day after NSD, as if that's never happened in the history of football. Sure I can understand that the father especially wanted to meet the new position coach for his son, but that's NOT what he was tweeting for the majority of yesterday. If that's all he wanted, to see who was going to coach DL at Florida and get to meet the guy and make a decision, fine, say that then and we could have all happily waited an extra week for his papers to get signed. This 3 ring circus of conflicting messages though is just completely unnecessary.

I believe most responsible parents would want to know who the position coach was. Most families would probably feel betrayed or hood-winked if they had faxed in the letter only to find out the position coach quit the next day. I am NOT saying UF did anything shady because I don't know when UF knew he was leaving, or what UF told recruits. Coaches quit all the time. My reading of this is the player and family like UF and are UF fans, but want to be careful under the circumstances. I disagree with anyone blaming the family.

Riiiiiight. Muzzle the kids, I'm sure that would work.

This is crazy!!!
If the kid said nothing on signing day people would be up in arms. If he would have opened up his options again people would be up in arms. Nothing a KID does or anybody for that matter makes everyone happy. We should be up in arms about the person(AN ADULT) that left the day after signing day knowing he would be gone and NOT saying anything.

ESPN would flex it's muscle and disband the NCAA overnight if they ever tried to put a rule like that into place. As I've said previously, ESPN is the entity that is thriving off of stuff such as this. It's extra headlines and stuff to talk about for them now that football season is effectively over for the next 6 months even if only for a few days.

I wouldn't even think it'd be that far fetched to suggest that perhaps ESPN slipped some money to them just to hold out a few days and create some controversy. They already DO this by making many of the top recruits wait until NSD to have a public signing, even if they kids make their minds up months ahead of time. Short of ESPN giving the families money, I don't see how they can enforce this and have all the kids comply with it each and every year.

Except that's not what happened. But whatevs. As long as you've got something to be up in arms about, that's what's important.

His Father was at the signing.

I'm starting to think that the kid was a bit undecided...BUT, wanted his day in the limelight (Announcing on ESPN).

Go thru with it and get the air time and then continue deciding.

If he doesn't announce on NSD...he won't be given the airtime later.

He's only had a couple of years to think about this, we shouldn't rush him.

I'm not mad at the coach for leaving. He has a family to support. If he is making more money good deal. 90% of us on here would take a job that pays better.

I'm not mad at Cece. He is not the one being an attention diva. Since his commitment on ESPNu he has never waivered from UF. Not once.

Not mad at his mom, you haven't heard a peep from her.

Now this dad of his...wtf? Now this is an attention diva. He isn't mad about the coaching change. I can tell you what it is after reading his interview with Mike Farrell. The coaches have been in contact with Cece. They did the in home visit. Cece have them his word and promise he is a Gator and has always wanted to be a Gator. So just to show him some of the things of the future, they talked with him briefly about the new dorms and new IPF. They had nothing else to talk about. Cece knows all he need a to know about UF. If the kid wants to be a Gator, why spend valuable time trying to convenience him to become something he already has his mind set on? Instead use that valuable time to go convenience another player to join this stud DE as a Gator. He needs a supporting cast. Either if it is a 2015 recruit or a 2016 recruit. Now other coaches came by and had one goal and one mission only. Convience Cece to not be a Gator and be whatever team they coached. They didn't have another player nearby to recruit. This right here stroked Mr.Leo Jefferson ego.

Then the day came and the coaches called to make sure Cece was still a Gator. As every story read by quotes from Cece himself, he told the coaches he is a Gator. So the coaches were glad and told Cece to go ahead and fax that LOI. Then the coaches could move on to off season conditioning, game films, 2016 recruiting, 2017 scouting, and spring practice preparation. All the stuff that coaches do. Not "vacation" as this arrogant father speaks of. On the other hand, coaches from other schools catch word that the LOI has not been sent. So they call and pitch their favorite line and Mr Leo Jefferson's ego is stroked even more.

I like the non hands on non quoted parents. It is much more peaceful. The outspoken over the top parents such as Cecil Newton Sr usually come with red flags.Just my humble opinion.

I am assuming his dad has Cece's best interests at heart. Maybe he wasn't totally comfortable with how everything was handled....maybe he thinks Cece would benefit from separating himself from something or someone.

Well we just got one of the most beast DL coaches in the country now, we should be able to get damn near anyone we want for next year.

Zach Abolverdi ‏@ZachAbolverdi
Talked to CeCe Jefferson's dad, Leo. Said whenever his son is comfortable with Chris Rumph and ready to fax his LOI to UF, he's OK with it.

Grommit...get real..kids love drama...kids can announce anytime they want..why blame ESPN...these kids hold out to be on tv...can not blame ESPN for covering it...this is a train wreck...cut him lose...he will prove along with his dad to be a train wreck...no kid is bigger than UF...UF was sneaky in trying to hide the coach leaving...but I really doubt this drama is over that...Ce Ce and dad are 2 people that love attention...UF move on..think you will glad you did..this is a headache in the future you do not want

So all the barriers were removed yesterday, yet still no LOI. My sympathy for CeCe is gone.
