Coming into this season, UT was the sexy pick to win the East. For some reason, everybody had been talking about Butch Jones like he actually knew what he was doing on the sidelines. Yet his career coaching record was 62-40 overall and 12-13 at UT, not exactly killing it. Since arriving at UT, these are the teams he has beaten:
Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, South Alabama, South Carolina (twice), Kentucky (twice), Utah State, Arkansas State, Chattanooga, Vanderbilt, Bowling Green and Western Carolina.
Then you add into it that UT's best season in 7 years was 7-6. So I just don't get where all the love was coming from.
So can someone please explain where the lovefest for Butch Jones and UT came from?
