Bongino "slavery reparations" beatdown Don Lemon

The important part here is that it is not one sided. I am neither British, nor Spanish, nor Portugese, but none of those countries, as Bill Maher pointed out, had any capability to push into the interior of the coast to get slaves.

There was a whole network there that trade with these Western European countries built on.

By the way, on reparations, to the extent that they should be in place (and I am sympathetic to some of the claims), between 1619 and 1776/1783, individuals in the U.S. should look to Britain for reparations. The U.S. was a British colony and wealth moved back to the center.

1783-1865 is a different discussion.

In all cases, it is a deeply evil and immoral institution, but it is not as limited as Bill Maher noted on his show the other night.

The Roman Coliseum was built in 7 years by 50,000 Jewish Slaves. I’m not Jewish or Italian. Their descendants are in line for payouts long before any American!

I've made this point here before. Slavery is evil but it's got shit to do with skin color. Europeans enslaved other Europeans, Egyptians built pyramids with them, Native Indians enslaved other native Indians, Romans enslaved anyone not Roman, and made them fight on Sundays. lol . For every buyer, there is a seller. RGG seems to completely ignore that fact.

Respectfully disagree about reparations. Only people effected should get reparations. No slaves are still alive. I think they should quit paying the 4000 per month to native Americans...that is just wasteful. You do not pay reparations to people you beat in war.

And she's exactly right.

Notice when the topic of reparations comes up the libs NEVER want to address the SOURCE of the problem.

BLACKS IN AFRICA are the ones that KIDNAPPED blacks and SOLD THEM AS SLAVES.

Libs don't want to talk about that, cause they don't want to appear racist. Notice @grandhavendiddy thinks the BUYERS should have to pay reparations (ie, the WHITE British), but the ones that KIDNAPPED AND SOLD the blacks (ie the BLACK AFRICANS), well they get a pass.

Funny how that works out? It proves the issue of reparations is politically motivated.

I have some Irish blood in me. I think my family is owed reparations. The wealthy british land owners tricked many many young Irish into becoming indentured servants. The life of an Iindentured servant was not an easy life. They were basically slaves themselves with the hope that ONE DAY, they would be able to be free.

Only about 40 percent of indentured servants lived to complete the terms of their contracts.

Same here (Scots-Irish). I'm also British and German, we'll have to sue the other half of my family.
