See teams keeping it close some times thru the first half bby can’t sustain it throughout the game. Pretty much all the SEC can field a solid first 22. it’s the quality of the rotation.

Depth is important, of course, but the problem wasn't Uf's depth. Uf hung around Alabama all game long. They may not be the juggernaut they usually are, but they are still a really good team.
Make no mistake, I'm not saying UF would win if that comedy of errors didn't happen. In fact, I would say UGA would win 10 out of 10 times. However, the guy I was responding to acted like there was a mountain of difference in potential between the teams. I don't see it that way. Some difference? Sure. However, not a mountain.
I trust UGA better prepared it's players through the spring and summer. Along with coaching that is respected enough where it's players aren't on record subtly dissing their coaches(cough grantham). That's the real difference.

Old guy who kids respect A LOT. Knows how to evaluate talent and knows how to use it.
Apparently he gets those kids to play way beyond what theyre capable of.
Hes coached a ton over the years, so you cant pull the wool over his eyes.
Some of yaal might laugh -- but Pittman would be a heckuva hire.
its the difference in what you want and what you really need.
There are no easy fixings here. Theres a big risk is you get it wrong from here and it gets worse.
He will get you better.

Bama's defense has taken a couple of steps back under Golding, who was ironically one of those 'up n comers' that Fever seems to be enamored with.

He does at game day coaching but like Kirby said himself talent evaluation and recruiting adds up to at least 75% of the reason you win these games or not.
I thought it was a genius hire for Arkansas at the time. I think he is a great coach, not sure how well he would fit at UF

i have always liked the “second tier” teams hiring guys who build up the lines. Stoops at UK and Pittman at Arky. It keeps them competitive. But not sure they fit at a place like UF. But great for those schools
