Still just confused why Foley didn’t do this three years ago
Hey buddy. Why didn't your sources tell you it was Mullen?
It's Bianchi...he makes some good points but totally over sells it. Chip Kelly would have been a home run but he's happy doing something totally different. He'll have success and UCLA will be very good. I'm excited to see how Mullen handles this recruiting class. That's super important.I agree with some of it, not all. He makes some bery good points, stretches some Kelly flaws a little. Love that he admits being wrong on Champ and Mac.
All in all, I say we have to roll with it. Still just confused why Foley didn’t do this three years ago

Remember this nugget from when McElwanker was hired? Mullen been wanting this all along and Foley wouldn't offer because he didn't like him. Foley is such a b*tchass. Always has been. Oh, and do you still like Mullen's humor now McElwanker?

Foley said then. "You can't come in here and think that football is more important than 20 other sports; that mindset doesn't work here."Remember this nugget from when McElwanker was hired? Foley said then. "You can't come in here and think that football is more important than 20 other sports; that mindset doesn't work here."
To quote Yoda: And this is why we fail.
It was all about the offense. We desperately wanted to replicate the Colorado St offense hereAnd it turned out that McElwain acted that way anyway. That McElwain hire was a real head scratcher. How could you sit down with that weirdo for any length of time and come away thinking that's the guy you want?

I think the options at the time were more limited than now. In retrospect, had he fired Muschamp after Ga Southern, we could have pursued James Franklin and probably gotten himAnd it turned out that McElwain acted that way anyway. And yet Coach Walton of UF softball prowess, tweeted a very warming welcome to Mullen and said how when Mullen was here 10 years ago that he was a stand up good, nice, family guy. Lol, so what is Foley even talking about?Foley said then. "You can't come in here and think that football is more important than 20 other sports; that mindset doesn't work here."

Mullen will need to fit into the Florida sports culture. That is real and that is special the way all sports support one another. But I have no problem with focusing on football infrastructure for the next few years.

I’m on board and the feeling is growing by the minute, but again...those teams had absurd talent for him to play with.

Thanks for the timely link.
Absolute nonsense! It's another example of Bianchi's ignorance of the English language. "Florida bloodlines" are not established by a few years of mere employment in Florida, especially not when that employment totals only 4 years, in contrast to living the rest of his life out-of-state.Why wasn’t Mullen their first choice? [...] a coach who has SEC roots, Florida bloodlines [....]
Upon further review, my engineering background overruled my classical background; so applying instead an older nonmechanical definition of "instrumental", I've withdrawn my objection to the quoted excerpt immediately above, as indicated by my strike-thro':[...] and was an instrumental cog in arguably the most successful era in Gator history?

Mullen is a native Yankee: i.e., born (1972) in Pennsylvania; played high-school football in Manchester, New Hampshire; played college football at Ursinus (Class of '94) in Collegeville (metro Philly), Pennsylvania [@].
Bianchi's phrase reminds me of those ignorant Florida natives who tolerate Yankee transplants claiming themselves to be "(practically) Florida natives" because the transplants have lived in Florida long enough for them to feel as if they were born here. How dare we genuine Florida natives refuse to accept their "feelings". Never mind that the key word has a single unambiguous qualification.
[...] "instrumental cog" is a needlessly redundant phrase. But "important cog" would have worked just fine, and "crucial cog" would've been even better, by virtue of providing alliteration.

Note @: Now I know why Mullen was such a cipher in Florida: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Mullen> (insert disclaimer about risks of trusting Wikipedia for biographical details).
Problem with that was that Nuss was not the OC at ColoSt...It was all about the offense. We desperately wanted to replicate the Colorado St offense here
Doesn’t that rely on us finding the next Tebow and Harvin? Seems like a difficult task![]()

They just might already be on the current roster, they just needed a Mullen to coach them up and then call the plays.
i.e.
QB Trask 6-4 240 -- Thunder
Ath Kadarius Toney 5-11 194 - Lightening
It would help but not necessarily. We could get back into the groove of getting those type of players.Doesn’t that rely on us finding the next Tebow and Harvin? Seems like a difficult task

We all knew this post was coming.
And you jerks will be eating dirt if it comes to pass.
'Selective Memories' are already being put on stand-by for the event.![]()
Dude, chill.
You can’t laugh at yourself?
Occasionally, when I'm not already laughing at the circle of jerks...
You can't pass on throwing sticks at me at every opportunity?
And then pretending that's not exactly what you're doing?
Now, go back to getting drunk all by yourself again...![]()
It’s called “ribbing.”
That’s all.
You were in the military. You’re telling me you never “busted balls” with each other?
Like I said. Chill. Not everything is a slieght.
