We were not prepared to play our first game. No shit! There were many head scratchers that made us armchairs look like a flea bitten coon dog. Much of that was undoubtedly on coaching. But, with that said, remember that between those leaving for the NFL and those coming and going through the portal it resembled a Chinese fire drill. Although we apparently gained talent and improved culture and comradery, we were, in essence, a rag-a-tag outfit that resembled Humpty Dumpty that all Billy's army couldn't fix in one off season. .

Realistically, we have to admit that our expectations have been much too high. Unlike Vegas, we failed to take into consideration what is mentioned above.
Talent? We do have talent on this team and us armchairs couldn't help but notice that it was under-utilized. The questions is, can Billy and Co. fix the almost laughable first game mistakes in one week? I am betting that they can and will. You can train all you want but the most effective improvement comes after being under fire. This team is pissed and will come roaring back with a vengeance.

Look for vast improvement next week and a battle in the trenches against the Vols. Come week 4 I believe we will be 3-1 and suddenly the cliff dwellers will take a step back. Those that have already made the leap will say they were just faking it and knew all along that our first game was a fluke. We do have a passionate fan base don’t we?

Gators gonna open up a big old can of whoop ass next week. Count on it!
