As much as I hate the Holes, I still cannot wrap my head around the Dumbo Jumbo deal

Hole fans can be fickle and fairweather, but they are no doubt bat-poop crazy about football.

They truly would have kept Dumbo forever.

Look at how Tally PD and SAO swing things in their favor.

Tallahassee is truly ruled by the good ol boys and their football.

If after all they went through Dumbo asked if they could match aTm’s pockets, the answer is obviously no. Not even Bama can. Those loonies poured $452 million into a stadium RENOVATION; some Pro teams build stadiums for less than that. Again, only aTm and Texas can come up with that kind of buck.

Now no doubt Dumbo Jumbo is a piece of crap, we knew this 15 years ago. And everyone has the right to make their situation better. But seriously what can you buy with aTm’s money that you could’t buy with FSU’s???

Maybe he just kept running into Taylor Jacobs at Publix........

He did the noles a favor by dumping them now. They are at risk with the next hiring decision, but they were going to perpetually lose games every year they shouldn't have. He showed his true colors during this ordeal as well.

We will find out soon how overpaid he is. At FSU he lost games against North Carolina and NC ST. Along with Louisville in blowout fashion.

Recruiting was never the issue at Texas A&M. He has to play LSU, Auburn and Alabama annually now. The cajun is the only coach he can outscheme in my opinion.

For 75 million anything short of annual SEC titles and National championships, the pitchforks will be out. Nole fans can be unrealistic but at Texas he is gonna find boosters at his door after losses. You cant shoo them away sleazy.

I will happily watch him lose at Texas A&M. He took a step down over money and ego. I think he'll regret it. I'm thinking FSU got off easy. His buyout would have forced us to keep him until he wanted to leave. At this point, I'm happier with Taggart.
I'm happier with Taggart based on personality alone...Jimbo really did show his true colors. a-hat

Of course you Noles are happier with Taggert. He is a demonstrably worse coach, about the same recruiter and you will pay him close to Jimbo money. But he has not screwed up...yet.

Looks like he's getting $5 million for 6 years.

That honestly seems a bit high considering Jimbo had to win a natty to get that kind of money. But I'd rather pay Taggart $5 million than pay Lane Kiffin $1 million. I guess Taggart was in a good negotiating position since he already had a good job.

So you guys just hired someone for Jimbo money that makes Jimbo look like Saban by comparison. Does Taggart even have a .500 record?

I liked Jimbo and would have been happy if he stayed -- by the terms of the 2016 deal. But he was getting a bit demanding and eventually found someone who was willing to give him what he wanted. He left. FSU didn't fire him. If Taggart is the equivalent of Jimbo -- and nothing more -- that's a reasonable outcome, from my perspective. A Saban-caliber coach was not available.

The man has gone from Jimbo Fisher to Judas Fabler with the nolies.

They're happier with Taggart for the sole reason that they have him. They were jimbo apologists up until very recently.

Judging from your reaction, it was excellent smack. Right in the middle of the trip. So far a very good trip.

He's relatively early in his head coaching career and I think his W/L trajectory is pretty good. It seems a smart person like you might be a bit more nuanced than that.

If Taggart loses 6 games for FSU I will be here, like I was for Jimbo as I know you recall, pointing out his shortcomings.

Continued success on the hunt. I leave tomorrow night for 4 days. Weather finally turned cooler in south Texas so less fear of snakes.

Plus his buyout at Oregon and USF. So a slight decline in overall expense for what looks to be, at best, a slight downgrade in coaching.
