@Heisman Gator 1 posted his similar thread based on a conversation he and I had yesterday. Our only goal was to try and raise some money for Florida Victorious and to get the opportunity to meet a lucky winner on the site. So, I am taking the blame for any miscommunication or frustration. Here is what we want to do:
Have a raffle where people pay $50 per try for the chance to meet Heisman, @bblake08, @SRGators, Halley, Higgy, BD Inc. members, and some of the other characters who show up at our gameday tailgates. This usually includes Brandon Spikes, Coach Golden, and a host of other peeps. There is no guarantee that they will show up, but they usually do. At my tailgate, I would pour you and 2 of your guests a shot of excellent bourbon while we chat. I am going to up that bourbon selection now to the Pappy 23 year so that we are clear that we are pouring a premier shot of Pappy. Some of you are sick of the bourbon talk and that is 100% cool. There will be food and other beverages as well.
Florida Victorious got wind of our idea and they are now offering this: two tickets to the Florida Victorious event on Friday night. Private event on the Diamond Deck at the Condron Family Ball Park, including BBQ dinner from Shannon Snell and athletes and coaches from men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, and track. This is an amazing event.
I am also going to throw in a few more things: A premier parking pass located right off of University Ave and just steps to the Swamp. Lot 18. I am also going to add 2 (not 3) exceptionally good tickets to the football game in the West stands near the 50-yard line (Section 8 - row 45). These seats are sick.
AND NOW WE ARE GOING TO THROW IN 2 TICKETS TO THE FSU GAME - WEST STANDS NEAR THE 50 YARD LINE - SECTION 8 - ROW 45. PLUS A PREMIER PARKING PASS FOR THE FSU GAME JUST STEPS TO BEN HILL GRIFFIN (SORRY - NO TAILGATE INVITE FOR THE FSU GAME AS WE HAVE A PRIVATE EVENT THAT DAY).
We will likely be offering other "amenities" over the coming days to sweeten the pot. But this is going to be a big deal, and we will all have fun. We thought about doing an auction instead but that just did not feel right. This is easier and "more affordable."
I will be at my tailgate around 10:45am if you want to come before the game. Or you can visit us after the game as we will be heading back to the tailgate post-game. Heisman's tailgate is a few steps from mine, and you can watch Gator Walk at his tailgate if you like. The tailgates have TV's.
Here are the rules. None of us on here will touch this money. It will go straight to FV. I am attaching below a link where you can make the raffle donation directly to FV. You can buy as many raffle tickets as you want. But there will only be one winner. FV will give us a list of those who have bought tickets, and we will create a "ticket" for each entry (again, you can buy multiple tickets for multiple entries), and we will make the drawing by Wednesday of next week so that the winner can prepare to attend. That will give us time to fedex you the parking pass (they only accept paper passes for parking) and transfer to you the game tickets. The winner can bring two guests to these tailgates in addition to the winner (so 3 people total). Heisman, BBlake and I have been getting hit with tons of dm's, and we would love to have everyone show up, but that is not how this can work unfortunately. We already have packed tailgates, and we just cannot accommodate all the people.
If there is not enough interest in the raffle after a few days, we will just pass on this and refund the money. THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THIS IS TO HELP FLORIDA VICTORIOUS HELP OUR GATORS!
