He is petitioning the SEC and NCAA that this October's LSU-UF football game be moved to Baton Rouge, on the account that we will be giving our baseball team their National Championship rings during halftime. Also free corn dogs to the first 10,000 fans entering the stadium.

Where you at Joe?

Someone mentioned this to me yesterday, and I GREATLY prefer giving the national championship rings out at halftime of the FSU game in Gainesville this coming November. LSU has won their national titles in baseball. They are considered a powerhouse in the sport. It is sort of low class to me to say hey, you may have 6 titles, but we just won our first! I would MUCH rather rub that dirt in FSU's face at halftime. "Hey, while you may have gone to the CWS some 60,000 times or whatever you glitterpeople brag about, we have a national championship. You don't." Sorry but I think the message would be much more effective on FSU as a whole. I can't remember us getting a ton of baseball flak over the years from LSU fans so much. They win national titles and they expect to win them, if they rub your face in it, eh. FSU doesn't win national titles but still tries to rub your face in it with their supposed superiority. The choice seems clear to me which game should have the baseball team honored at.

Ok this is pretty funny.
What kind of a team would be stupid enough to try to have a championship celebration or some kind of lifetime field naming dedication or something against your biggest rival?

That could really backfire and make your program look foolish for like an eternity.

It wasn't just that we beat them that day. We beat them with Ron Zook as coach. I mean, if it had been Spurs or Meyer, ok, those teams were pretty darn good. But the Zooker?
