Florida Gators four-star quarterback commit Anthony Richardson was accountable for an astonishing 6 TD's on the night -
passing - 403 yards; 4 TDs
rushing - could not find yardage - 2 TDs

This is Richardson's 2nd 6 TD game. Richardson's stat line from last year's game with Lake Weir -
passing - 241 yards; two TDs
rushing - 157 yards; four TDs

Some observers have denigrated Richardson's passing skills, but when you compare his two 6 TD games, you notice the increase in passing yards & TDs from last year to this year. I think his passing skillls have increased.

I also looked at his performance in the Elite 11 QB challenge, where he launched the longest throw among signal callers at 68.5 yards.

Richardson also earned 'Best Fit' honors for how his skill set matches what Dan Mullen likes to do offensively.

With the hiring of Ken Zampese, former NFL QB coach & OC, as a Gator Quality Control Analyst , I expect Richardson's passing skills to further improve rapidly once he gets into school.

If Richardson goes Early Entree at UF, SEC look out.

He is not raw anymore, he's growing fast as a QB, just ask Dan or Biran.

He is projected and intends to early enroll.

He is rock solid on the field, off the field, and in the classroom.

Never mention sCam and Richardson in the same conversation,,, please. o_O

That’s too much pressure to put on him. But if you wanna be excited think about the fact that he’s coming in more polished than Dak, Tebow, and Cam as a passer and he's every bit the athlete they are. The rest is tbd and it'll be a minute before he sees the field if we're lucky.

So he will be better than a NC winning, Heisman winning, #1 overall draft pick? Only you would come up with that.

This kid has all the tools and he’s a freak athletically, especially for a QB.

In 2020, Jones and Richardson are both likely to be still learning backups.

In 2021 Jones, Richardson, and Del Rio will battle to see who can win the job, and how the depth chart shakes out. It should be interesting to see how they develop and play.

Insta,

STRONGLY agree with your thoughts on 2020. This, & the Boston Red Sox offer to Franks, are why I hope Trask stays at UF.

If Franks leaves UF, for any reason, after 2019, our QB room is awfully bare.

I believe your opinion of Trask as a "stop-gap" is shared by many other Gators.

But if Franks leaves after this year, Trask, 2 years into Mullen's system, going into his 3rd, would be a reliable bench mark with which to evaluate Jones & Richardson.

Plus, "maybe the horse will learn to sing !"

Jeff, also keep in mind that Dan has proven that he knows how to play 2 QB's (Leak/Tebow) in games and win big with them.... ;)

Oh BTW, Trask's HS coach played him in the 3rd & 7th series in games his Sr season and won with that 2 QB system. Kyle completed 73.4% of his passes (47-64) for 759 yards, 16.1 yds/comp with 10 TD's and ZERO interceptions; also had 18 carries for 49 yards and one TD,,, and that wasn't in 4th quarter garbage time after the game had already been decided. o_O

Through three games, Richardson has completed 46-of-67 passes for 931 yards, eight touchdowns and just one interception.

He’s completing nearly 69 percent of his passes, with an average of 310 yards per game.

Richardson has also accounted for four rushing touchdowns.

Beck 23-44 52 % 353 yds 3 TD's 4 Int 2 games
AR 46-67 69 % 931 yds 8 TD's 1 int 3 games

A year ago when Beck proved himself to be just another catered to entitled jerk, I said that I'd rather have AR than him, and screw the biased star givers. Seems to be working out for our Gators, just like the Warren-Elam fiasco did...;)

Paco,

Thank you for the info & the comparison. Wasn't Beck the one who used a UF offer to get a UGA offer ?

Passing accuracy CAN be learned; A R has obviously been working on his !

What can;t be learned is 6'4", 224 lbs, 4.5 in the 40, & the strength to throw a pass 68.5 yds.

He’s better than Beck for the type of offense we run.
