We didn’t drop Richardson for Beck. Richardson is still a high priority.

Paco,

Obviously you were on top of things.

Rivals & several other sites reporting that Anthony Richardson was back on campus & that Gators are not out of it with his recruitment.

Richardson talked about his desire to take visits to Michigan & Penn State, & I got the impression that he has already visited UCF. One article quoted him as saying that he hoped to make a decision in late may - his birthday - and then concentrate on his SR season at Eastside.

You never know how things will play out & obviously Richardson, like all recruits, has to do what's best for him. Still I think he is a great fit for CDM's offense here at UF, & its good to hear we are still communicating with him.

GO GATORS !!

He will likely make a decision after spring ball. It’s UF or Penn State.

I like the fact that when he uncommitted earlier, it was known to the staff and they were aware of it going down. Shows a level of maturity - on this side, I like this kid in Mullen's system. He has the types of skill you want in a QB coming in every year.

I'm hoping Anthony Richardson re-commits. If he ultimately chooses Penn State, he will fit in perfectly in their offense. Speaking of Penn State, if Justin Fields stayed committed to playing in Happy Valley, he would have been the clear cut starter for James Franklin.

I think he’s more talented than Emory Jones and Jalon Jones

One game does not make a season, but I keep coming back to Richardson's stat line from his game with Lake Weir -
passing - 241 yards; two TDs
rushing - 157 yards; four TDs

Career stats through 26 games http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/ant...Eea-8KA2nzwbTA/gendersport/football-stats.htmhttp://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/ant...Eea-8KA2nzwbTA/gendersport/football-stats.htm

Passing
399 attempts, 198 completions, 3235 yds, 29 TDs, 18 INT, .496 Cmp %

Rushing
217 carries, 1482 yds, 34 TDs, 6.8 yds/carry

If Gators able to recruit 1 top flight QB a year who fits their offensive system, they will be fine. Four QBs provide plenty of competition & backup in case of injury and also tell recruits, that if they work hard, they will see the field.

GO GATORS !!

What he said - thing is a good recruiter at UF should be able to bring in a 4-5 start QB or a high 3-star that fits the program every year.

Overall I'm really happy to see Franks' improvement - but the Emory Jones kid seems to be really coming along as well. The guys developing is what makes me believe in Mullen.

Being the better QB passing the ball, is not the entire job of being the QB in Mullen's offense. That said,; by 'passing ability' alone, and JMOHO at that....

Kyle Trask
Feleipe' Franks
Jalon Jones
Emory Jones
Just what my own eyes tell me, nothing more.... o_O
Dan's depth chart will sort itself out by Aug...
=====

The senior RB from Mobile, Ala., is the lead back in more ways than one. He knows he has to help the young players go through the 'expectations portal' that has gobbled up cocky high school stars and spit them out. (like Lemons)

“I try to tell young guys, everybody had that mindset when they come in,” Perine said. “I’m going to play. I’m going to do this and that. You can’t do that until you actually prove yourself that you’re dependable.

“You can’t come in and think you’re going to take somebody’s position.

I was that way when I first got here. I had my days when I’d come in and was lazy, not going full speed. As I matured, you realize you got to work for it. Nobody is going to hand you nothing around here. It’s the SEC.” -- Every day.

~ I like that Dan says this goes for EVERY position on the team...

Apparently Trask looked fantastic in last Sat's practice. I'm really comfortable this year no matter who gets put in. By all accounts Franks looks fantastic and hugely improved. All reports say the same thing about Emory. We are in good shape 1-3 imo.

Big difference from a year ago.

Ath - WR & Return Man Jaylin Jackson 5-8 171 rsFr (30-5 as HS QB-dt - Tampa)

As I said last year before the season, this kid can play. He continues to be my favorite 'dark horse' for playing time, be it as a slot WR or on ST's.
