In prior years I thought they were doing the pairings based on conference order of finish from the season prior but I guess not anymore, considering we finished 3rd and TCU finished 5th. Auburn won the conference last season but wasn't in the SEC/B12 challenge because they weren't one of the top 10 SEC teams in the season before last.....and we still won the challenge. If this were football I would be interested. TCU in basketball......meh.
Kansas vs Kentucky is a headline game, Florida should be playing Texas Tech or Oklahoma. Florida vs TCU basketball is hardly attention grabbing in May.
I would excuse the lackluster matchup if there were a concrete formula like conference finishing order, or geographic intrigue, or even new opponents every year. The Kansas and Kentucky is a money play, I am cool with that.In prior years I thought they were doing the pairings based on conference order of finish from the season prior but I guess not anymore, considering we finished 3rd and TCU finished 5th. We are 4-1 in this challenge having played Kansas twice, and Oklahoma, WVU, and Baylor so you can't say we haven't gotten the top matchups from the B12. TCU is different now because they have a top notch coach in Jaime Dixon who has turned them around and they will probably be highly ranked at the time we play them so this isn't your daddy's TCU bball team.I would excuse the lackluster matchup if there were a concrete formula like conference finishing order, or geographic intrigue, or even new opponents every year. Florida is second in the SEC pecking order, we should get the second best game.

I have never been a team SEC fan, last year I can say was the first time I was really happy to see a UK victory, over WVU. The media was drooling all over how good the big 12 was, they were speaking of them as an all-time great conference.https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/...erence-the-b12-vs-sec-hoops-challenge.266990/
The OP started a similar thread on Rupps Rafters. With a few exceptions, most of the UK posters pull for the other SEC teams not named UT.

Outside of Kansas, how many Big 12 teams have made it deep on a yearly basis? The SEC is considered a Kentucky and everybody else league. Kansas has won the big 12 like sixteen straight years.
I don't discount that title, Memphis had a ot of talent. One being a future NBA MVP, but since that title you could say he hasn't done enough with all that talent. And Bill Self is the Mark Richt of basketball.
All of that success, and he has one title, coming against a mid-major, 10 years ago.
