Transferring. Perfect example of the kind of players we have on this team. Game is barely over and on top of that we’re two games into the season and he’s transferring. These players just aren’t very smart and selfish too. This is why you see stuff like them trying to start a fight down two scores while we’re trying to drive for a TD. Dumb and selfish. Hopefully he isn’t the last one to leave.

It’s a major problem and then one of your seniors who is supposed to be a leader of the team gets suspended in Cece Jefferson.

I am getting scared this team may check out some later this season if they really get roughed up in a game (Miss State).... I know its crazy to say that after one loss but it reminds me of that crap last season after the A&M game.

Did he announce this after the game??? That’s mind-blowing. It’s absolutely terrible to bail on your team after the season’s started. There’s been a few UK players to do this over the years, and I totally lost all respect for them.

Yep announced it on Twitter right after the game.

Not surprising. He was talking about it in the offseason. This is really just a microcosm of what this program has become.

As far as I know, this was coming; however, this was in very poor taste. Sometimes, the player is not a good fit for the program and vice versa, but after a game? Part of coaching is leadership and changing the culture. This is why Mullen is being paid millions. I look for Mullen to have Florida at an SEC championship level by 2019.

I actually respect Mullen for doing that. Restricting transfers is nonsense. I understand why they do it though. I'll give 3-2 that he ends up at either Tennessee or Auburn.
I don't think he's good enough to play in the SEC. He had 136 total yards in his time at UF. If he was better than others he would have played more. If he wants to start he needs to go FCS. This is what Dooley said in Tuesday's Gainesville Sun: 10. So all of us who drank the Kool-Aid smoothies on this Florida football team have a bad taste in our mouths today. It’s not like we thought this was some uber-team and it’s not like we thought Kentucky couldn’t finally beat Florida. It’s just that we didn’t expect it to look like THAT. (It’s like Kool-Aid that has a flavor of vinegar, old socks and sewer water.) What we didn’t realize or failed to consider is that you can’t change a culture overnight. (For example, the supposed face of Florida football Cece Jefferson had been suspended for the first two games). It was apparent that the culture is still a work in progress after the game when running back Adarius Lemons threw a fit in the locker room because he didn’t get any carries in a game where the Gators rarely ran the ball (and he was the fifth best running back on the team). As a result, Lemons was shown the door and announced he will transfer. Good move by Dan Mullen. Maybe this team still has a little McElwain in it. There’s nothing worse than entitlement without talent. You could tell from Mullen’s post-game talk and his Monday presser that he knows he has a long way to go with this group of players in terms of getting them to understand what’s important. “You don’t go from here to here in one step,” Mullen said Monday. “I hope it’s heading in the right direction.”

I could maybe see a west team besides LSU but no way would I approve a disgruntled player like that to go to someone we play every year. My guess is Lemons might find himself incarcerated prior to the 2020 season however based on what some people say about him. A terrible situation growing up but has not seemed to have gained any maturity whatsoever as evidenced recently with his twitter posts.

Auburn already has three true freshman running backs and one redshirt freshman. Unless he is great, Auburn wouldnt take him

Um with the new transfer rules they announced, I don't believe coaches are allowed to limit where I player can go.

I think that is just grad transfers as the SEC was allowing teams to even restrict that before and players on teams that get probation and stuff like that.

If an FBS player transfers to another FBS school he still has to sit out a year unless he's a graduate transfer. He can only play without sitting out if he goes to an FCS or lower division school or meets a very narrow set of criteria, such as those applying to Ole Miss players or Grimes.

Doesn’t matter where he goes. He was suspended for the first game. He had touches in the return game in the second game. He then threw a fit in the Locker room after a devastating loss . Completely selfish and non team response. He had to go period! He won’t be the last . Mullen has to change the culture, he will, we have to live with the immediate. Consequences however painful. We are a soft team, spoiled, entitled.

Huh....okay....I was under a different impression when they announced the whole "you can transfer without redshirting as long as you don't play in more than 4 games" thing this year.

And didn't this guy have serious issues in high school and Mac basically had to pull every string possible to get him in?

Yea to the second paragraph

Yep, won’t miss the 5th running back. If you were all that then you would at the top of the rotation, so that’s on you kid. Leave now and we can make room for someone who wants and will work to be here. And remember Your next move is probably Wal Mart kid. See ya..

"It wasn't really because of the game…" "It was the cherry on top, you could say."

Lemons said he had problems with marijuana that earned him a suspension for the opener against Charleston Southern."

"Mac, he was letting a lot players get away with a lot of stuff," "Mullen came in. He was really strict with the rules."

Its all a shame.
I hope he goes on and finds a school thatll help him get his head right.
I like that saying "drugs and alcohol, all time undefeated".

He is a talented young man and could do a lot of great things.
These kids have the world by the tail and they just dont know it.
All this pressure and stuff from fans, coaches - its a lot to handle.

I bet he'll likely try and leave the conference. He could start and be a star at a smaller school.

Well spoken NY

Anyone know anything about Jefferson's status. Some people are claiming he has become a bad seed and we might not see him on the field much this season as he has almost checked out.
