August 2nd in Canton Ohio marks the first preseason game of the year. When you type in a NFL team you get actual games listed. Football is back!!!!! (Well preseason games)

Can anybody name all of the former Gator greats enshrined in the H.O.F without googling it?

Yep cant stand those either. The last couple of years I haven't even watched the NFL regularly. College I still watch a lot even when its not the Gators.

Until they start throwing those sons of bitches off the field, i dont watch @bradleygator

They are trying to equate owners like Jerry Jones as slave owners. If you or I were working for a job that pays us very well and we protested the companies policies in an act of protest I doubt we would be employed. These guys signed a contract, the owners and league have a set of rules. If you don't follow the rules you get fined/fired.

I believe in free speech, but these millionaires are not victims. Let's stop pretending they are, if they don't want to follow the rules then don't collect the check. This country is filled with people who would rather protest someone doing actual work because their feelings got hurt, than actually looking and working towards elevating themselves or those they feel are being held back. Inherent victims right?

Politics suck.

I was surprised that we had only two, Notre Dame has 13. Miami has more than three times what we have.
I was thinking we might have a receiver there also and couldn't remember the name. It was Wes Chandler who I was thinking of.

He was a stud in the 70s for the Rams. I believe he played against the Steelers in SB 13.
I have heard the great names of the past. Saw a lot of those Heisman and Hall Of Fame Alumni but now that there are players like Terrell Owens going in I am realizing how old I am now. I was a kid when Emmitt and Favre were doing their thing. I only began watching when they were well into their careers.

I remember Terrell Owens when he was still considered a young punk when he celebrated on the star.

Florida will get another member. My next question is who will be #3 or has the best shot?

I imagine that Fred Taylor will get in.

Of the current players I would list Brandon Spikes, Carlos Dunlap , the Pouncy brother that plays for Pittsburgh as the most likely. Percy Harvin was unfortunately too injury probes to show what he could do.

If u are talking hall of fame....none of those players are getting in.

Meh....not necessarily true....Maurkice Pouncey has been an all-star with the Steelers since he got in the league (his injury as a rookie had a major effect on the Steelers losing to the Packers in 2010).

He might get the recognition, but OL is difficult.

Fred Taylor will likely get in because of the numbers but also because he was "the guy" for a brand new franchise."

Maurkice Pouncey is a 6 time Pro Bowler and is considered by many to be the best center in the NFL. On his current pace without a doubt he has a very good chance to make the Hall of Fame.

Fred Taylor has an excellent chance as well. Lomas Brown has been up for consideration but I don’t think he will ever quite make it.

I think Pouncey and Dunlap have a chance, not saying it's great but they have a shot. I had always considered Kearse and Taylor options as well. Like Danny already said about Taylor, he was never the name of a Marshall Faulk or Terell Davis but he was a very good player on some very good Jaguar teams.

I doubt Taylor gets in due to only getting one pro bowl. He is getting hardly any votes now I think. He might be the highest total yardage guy that isn't voted in because of that. Not really fair to him.

Kearse has been put on the ballot. Not saying he will get in but it's a start. He still holds the rookie sack record at 14.5 I believe.

To me Kearse is the type of player who should not get in. He had 3 yr span of dominance....another 3 yr span of above avg. That doesnt scream hall of fame to me. I dont care that he was a Gator. That holds no relevance to me for someone getting in the hall of fame. I think in order to get in the hall of fame at minimum you should dominate for around 10 yrs or have minimal dropoff. He nvr had 50 tackles in 1 season. His first 3 yrs were dominate but after that? A few above avg seasons. Great player, would want him on my team...NOT a hall of famer in my book.

I hear what you are saying, but the pool is small unfortunately and as a Gator fan I have a natural bias because he played for us.

He had 74 career sacks and was a three time pro-bowler. Not great, good but probably not HOF when you stack him up against Bruce Smith or Reggie White. I am biased though and he has a shot.
