I want to get these out to clear my head for the next game. Growing up in Tallahassee as a Gator fan, I have a personal stake in this one.
I'm still trying to get my arms around how 2024 has unfolded. From predicting 8-9 wins in the spring to predicting 7-8 losses after the first game and the subsequent freefall of emotions, to whatever happened during the bye week, to being right there with Tenn and UGA, to beating (and ruining) both LSU's and Ole Miss's seasons on consecutive weekends, to the emergence of DJ Lagway and Jaden Baugh (among others), from cautiously high to almost giving up to being roaringly proud the last two weeks I need some time to digest all of this.
Can you imagine how anxious we're all going to be approaching the first game of next season? Billy is still going to have doubters and that's fair, we're still going to be 8-5 at best when this season is done. What we've watched unfold this year is either a one-off or the subject of a future 30 For 30 about just how close Billy came to being gone instead of being the dynastic coach he turned out to be. Predicting next season's record is going to be wild...
I'm REALLY looking forward to some of the inside story coming out as to how this team and this head coach literally pulled themselves out of their own grave.
Ok that's it, I'm ready to end the Noles' season on the same miserable note it started.
Go Gators!
