The summer B session of classes at UF started Monday, and with that comes a crucial time for the Gators football team as the summer enrollees join the returning players on the roster in workouts.

From what I’ve been told, the real load of the workouts with the strength & conditioning staff for the incoming freshmen and players returning from a week off together began Monday. The 2016 summer enrollees worked out a little bit when they found time during their first six days on campus once they reported to campus last Tuesday.

The team plans to work out Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of every week up until fall camp, with Wednesday being the recovery day and Saturday and Sunday being off days. The schedule each day consists of a 5:30 a.m. workout, classes, lunch, team meetings, then a second workout in the afternoon, followed by tutoring, etc.

Monday, the team focused on Olympic style lifts and plyometrics aimed at working on their explosion. The S&C staff works with the players and typically tries to focus on something different every day during workouts. One source I've talked said the team has done "everything you can think of" over the past two days.
