That particular tweet was more for diplomatic / PR purposes IMO, and probably doesn’t reflect Trump’s personal convictions about Xi and the PRC in general. Now that many if not most independent Western have been expelled from the PRC or at least severely curtailed, it’s difficult to know what’s truly going on over there.

100% correct. Look at the date...two months ago, when the USA was finalizing the tariff/trade deal and had we blasted the Chinese at that time they would have walked. It's called diplomacy.

What is interesting is the statement of the NYC health commissioner ten days later (Feb. 2) saying that the risk to NY'ers was low...it was safe to ride the subway...go out and continue patronizing restaurants, bars, theatres, etc.
That incompetent bozo could very well be Surgeon General if Biden stumbles into the Oval Office. Think about that.
