UF is NOT going to sign big recruiting classes of 25+ high schoolers any longer, as this just over-inflates the roster with bodies who all have to be paid something from the NIL budget. There's just no sense in signing more than 18-20 when the final 5-7 signees would just be 4th stringers. The new model shows that it is better to use those spots on proven portal players who can contribute right away and not be a risk.

Accordingly, because of the way classes are ranked by volume... do NOT pay attention to the overall class rankings. Look instead at the AVERAGE player ranking:


As you can see, UF is currently ranked 20th using this metric.

Am I saying that 20th is good? No.

I am saying that we are focusing on adding 5 or 6 more high school players who are highly-ranked kids... which could put our "high school" recruiting class into the Top 10.

And YES, of course we are shooting to go even higher in the future... which WINNING on the field in 2025 will help.

If we can get Top 10 high school talent and add in some big portal names... to go with the already talented young roster... we will be ready to compete for all the marbles.
