2024-25 Basketball,,, all things considered...

It only got far worse when they purposefully broke the all star record for points scored by allowing ball handlers to score as defenders stood like statues.

NBD feveredbrains, I can't imagine paying you for doing anything.... LOL

I've also never watched a WNBA game.
I don't care about the WNBA.
I don't care about the Indiana Fever Team.
And while I don't really 'care' about Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark as an individual, she is damn good ENTERTAINMENT to watch play the game.
Go watch the above highlights and then give me your honest opinions on what you see.
Tell me if you were 'entertained' or not, and why.....

I was impressed by her WNBA Rookie record of 122 made 3's.
I was impressed by the fact that the 3 top 3Pt shooters in the NBA averaged shooting from 27+ feet, while Clark averaged shooting from 28+ feet with several highlight Logo 3's.
But I was most impressed with her often 'no-look' passes, leading to her:
All Time WNBA record of game 19 Assists, and her season record 337 Assists, done as a rookie.

She is the best, or at least one of the best PG's that I've ever seen play the game.
Here's just the Assists without the other aspects of her game...

Let's see if Caitlin Clark can shoot 3's with a men's official size basketball. Even the 6'8" Griner struggles dunking with a WNBA size ball.

That's laughable, even coming from a goaterdud.
Women's sports and men's sports don't compete, they are separate, just in case you hadn't noticed.

Just like I'm betting that the 4th grade playground bully on his best day, still couldn't beat up Mike Tyson....
Apples and Oranges don't grow on the same trees you freakin',,,,, (wait, I'm not supposed to say it) so I'll just let everyone with a brain fill in that blank.....
😉

You brought up chick basketball on a Gator basketball thread, we didn't.

The shooting looks good at times but women's basketball just looks like a 2nd rate product to me because they are weaker physically and it shows up big time when you watch how the game looks. The NBA isn't good to watch now as they seem to just jack up 3s non-stop. I will stick with mens college football and basketball mostly.

Basketball is more a skill game, unlike football.
And Clark is a 'generational talent' by everyone's standards that have watched her, including Bird-M.Johnson-Barkley, etc, etc...

But if you can only watch males, then that's your choice, but I've enjoyed females athletic events every since watching the Olympics when I was just a kid many decades ago. Each to their own...

This vid seems to poke some rather large holes in your 2nd rate perceptions, but then, that's a feveredbrain that's controllin' the yappin' there.... 🧐 (vid contains both NBA & WNBA passing)

Oh BTW, you're FoS and incorrect yet again goaterdud, ocala posted a Gator Women's B-Ball results link on this thread, not that it matters who posts on which topic on any thread. 🙄

But since we're here again, how about a few more lumps while I troll you, and I'll post about both Clayton and Clark at the same time....

Clark's 4 Yr Career Stats - 139 Gms
Per Gm Ave - 28.4 Pts, 7.1 Rbs, 8.2 Asts
--- FG 46.2% - 3's 37.7%, FT 85.8%
---------- (Per Gm goes to CC, while shooting percentages are about equal)
Per Gm Ave - 14.7 Pts, 3.4 Rbs, 2.8 Asts ---- FG 44.2% - 3's 38.0% - FT 87.8%
Clayton's 3.8 Yr Career Stats - 127 Gms

PG Caitlin Clark is the first player in NCAA history—men’s or women's:
To achieve 3,600+ points, 1,000+ assists, and 850+ rebounds in a career.

It took you 14 hours to come up with this weak reply?

Now that's a masterful WEAK troll, even for the goaterdud3 to attempt.

Unlike the dweebs like you, I have a life to live and so don't LIVE on this board.
Plus I respond, or don't, at my own pleasure.... 😛

Not sure what happens if us and TN both win out. We would be 2nd in the SEC but they have a bunch of Quad 1 wins which may sway the choice. We may need to beat Bama and have them lose @ Ole Miss to get that #1 seed.

Won by 19 over the #12 team in the country when our best player, Walter Clayton, had an off night, our starting #5, Chinyelu only played 7 minutes and didn't score, our top guard off the bench, Aberdeen, only shot 2-10. And yet the rest of the team did their part and we won going away. 21 assists for the Gators to only 3 for the Aggies is an incredible stat. Will Richard was the MAN when the game got close and ended up with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Haugh and Condon both came up big again and Handlogten had 8 rebounds. Todd Golden's passion really is something to see and I love this team. Going to Alabama on Wednesday night is going to be tough, especially the way they lost at Tennessee today on a last second shot. But wikn that game and I think we could be a #1 seed. If not, #2 for sure.

I no longer come here for game threads anymore, it's bad luck for our Gators. But some observations.........The St Johns flows north because Georgia sucks. We can't keep digging 20 point deficits before half and expect to dig out of those holes and win every time, especially if the officiating sucks balls. As shitty as we played against UGA in the first half of that game, we win going away if our clowns hit 75% of our free throws. That was maddening. Every game is a tough out all the way through the rest of the schedule. No easy putts, and every team has dead tired legs, us included. I'm disappointed in Clayton Jr's shooting lately, seems like he's hit the wall, and he is a very talented player. But we are so deep, it really hasn't mattered. But we are now near nut crunching time. I don't care about the SEC tournament much, only concerned about being full strength during the Big Dance. Nothing else here on out matters. We are a solid 2 seed no matter what.

Short of Sweet 16 - disappointing season
Sweet 16 or Elite 8 - good season
Final Four - great season
A Great Season Is >>> Me still alive when:

The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch's new season begins in April.
Caitlin Clark resumes play May 4th in a preseason exhibition game vs the Brazil National Team.
Gator football comes around again, and I manage to still be interested in watching them play.... 😉

Going to be real interesting if we did win @ Bama and beat Ole Miss and TN wins @ Ole Miss. If they went with both of us as #1 seeds it could screw us actually in a way if we got the West (I have no doubt they would give TN the preferred location over us). Would they leave Houston out of the #1 seeds? I am not sure but it could be a situation where they wait to see if they win the Big 12 tournament (and us or TN didnt win the SEC one) to decide if they would get that #1 seed over either us or TN if we all closed out the season with wins. As long as we beat Ole Miss we should be in a good spot to be the #2 seed in the South or East I would think which is a good spot to be in.
