Gators are pursuing 5-star PG Robert Dillingham of Combine Academy in NC. Dillingham just won MVP on the 16U FIBA Americas Championship for USA.

Really detailed breakdown with 75+ film clips: Player Evaluation

In 2022 the PG slot will be wide open at UF.
The HC is a former PG and a long proven developer of PG's.

If he meets the overall 'Gator Standards' I hope he comes to G'ville.

Mike White recruited and coached up a 2 star PG to be the career All Time Assists leader at LaTech.
Then he coached up a 3 star PG to be the career All Time Assists leader at UF.

I hope Robert knows about that, and takes a look at the team depth chart before he chooses where to go....

I love how you think .

It's going to be hard with UNC being the hometown team and Jeff McInnis being his coach .

Zona just hired former UNC associate head coach from last year Steve Robinson , so they might get a deep look now as well .

UK wants DJ Wagner , so at least we don't have to battle them

Many reasons for kids to go where they choose to go.
I wish him well wherever he chooses to go.
The way transfers go now days, we might get him on the rebound in a couple of years anyway....
🤔

If not him, then Mike will recruit and coach up another guy to get it done here....
HS recruiting stars don't mean chit once you get on a college floor to play.

On the rebound ? Robert will turn pro regardless of what he plays like , the kid is ranked high like Scotty Lewis was.

You realize that Tre mann is the only first round pick MW ever had , Tre did a ton of work to get better on his own .

And that makes Mike an amazing HC, considering that he makes it to a post season tourney EVERY year, and he's never gone 1 & Done in a tourney....

And of course Tre did everything completely on his own, Mike has never been a good PG coach.... (according to the VI's anyway)

Oh c'mon, man! Bust on Coach White regarding his inability to get enough big men, but his knowledge of the PG position is quite high and his influence is likewise quite high. Tre learned from Mike. Give him credid where it IS due...I say..

I agree on the Bigs, although he's had some decent Big's, they just couldn't avoid the injuries.... Egbunu, Gak, Stone, etc....
As to his PG coaching:

PG Kenneth 'Speedy' Smith 6-3 180 ** - Gulf Port, FL
Recruited and coached by Mike White is LaTech's All Time Career Assists Record holder (858)
Smith averaged 6.2 points, 6.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game
He was named C-USA's Men's Basketball Player of the Year in 2015.
2× First-team All-C-USA (2014, 2015)
2× C-USA All-Defensive Team (2014, 2015)
C-USA Defensive Player of the Year (2014)
==========

PG Chris 'The Cheese' Chiozza *** - Memphis, TN
Mike White came in and coached Chris up to UF's All Time Career Assists Record Holder (571).
Twice led the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio, both as a junior (2.4) and senior (3.4).
Also led the SEC in assists as a senior (6.1).

Not too bad for a HS 2-star and a 3-star....
While neither PG was drafted to the NBA, both are still playing Pro ball elsewhere.

Dude , coming out of high school Tre was an isolation scorer and he still is. Mann is still a weak passer and ball handler to play point in the NBA. He is a good scorer and grew 2 inches .

Cheese and DFS would've made it to the pros regardless of who the coach was , they are winners

When Tre Mann arrived at UF as a 5-star MickyD-AA, he was so good that....
He averaged 5.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 29 appearances with 4 starts.

But after spending a year on Mike's team, all on his own he miraculously improved to...

Leading the team with 16.0 points and 83 assists and ranked 2nd with 5.6 rebounds and 45 3-point field goals.
>>> And all on his own with no coaching from Mike, he finished the season on a hot streak, averaging 20.9 points over his final 7 appearances.

Tre increased his scoring averaged by 10.7 points per game from his freshman to his sophomore season, the largest single-season jump by a Gator over the past 25 years, topping Joakim Noah’s 2005-06 10.6-point scoring increase in his sophomore season (2005-06). (just like BillyD did nothing coaching wise to help Noah progress either....)
🙄

So they should just take the money wasted on a HC and use it to buy the right players that don't need any coaching to win championships....
🤔

🤗

PS
And I suppose that the 4-5-stars continue to come to UF for the cheerleaders, because the coach has nothing at all to do with their choices..... (VI confirmed)

He is a MUCH better passer than when he arrived. HIs assists per game would have been some more higher had KJ been in the lineup. He is probably more of a combo guard which could allow his teams some versatility in how they decide to use him.

The coming B-Ball season. -- Here's some SEC BS for Gator fans to digest....

UF will play @ Tennessee for the 5th time in the last 6 seasons (the Dollies have only been sent to Gainesville twice during that span),
