2020's defense was the worst since 2007..........where it seemed safeties were forced to play linebacker.........and Tebow and the offense had to score 50 points to put a game away. The following year the D was stout. Natty stout. But we have Grantham, so my hopes are low.
Agree 100%. The main difference between 2007 D and 2020 D is that the 2006 D was national championship caliber, but something like 20 of the top 22 moved on after that year, so 2007 was green as grass. But the system was great and the talent was there, so once they got it together they were aces in 2008. Can't say the same for 3rd and his "system" of substituting while the opponent is hiking the ball.

Booker was a loss. Kaytron Allen was not. We have Glover and Gibbs higher on our RB board. Inconsistencies in the secondary, players and coaches, hurt the overall defense.
Two coaches got replaced, and much of the player inconsistency has finally moved on.
