Just re-watched the game and noticed a few things -

1) Jarrad Davis is a violent player. His combination of speed and strength is NFL special. He looks like Navarro Bowmen. The combination of Anzalone and Davis could be among if not the SEC's best.

2) Not sure there was more than one ball thrown in Quincy's direction. Putu had a nice tackle on one play.

3) Marcus Maye looks like he's ready to take that next step. He's not quite in the range of Ahmad Black or Matt Elam but he's a fast, physical, sure tackler.

4) Del Rio looked like a serviceable QB. Most of his passes were 10 yards or less but he was throwing it across the field well. Goolsby ran the wrong route on one awkward looking pass.

5) Scarlett looked the most impressive but none of the RBs played great. You can see the potential in Mark Thompson from his impressive size. One of the most important qualities for our RBs will be whether they can catch out of the backfield because that's a key part of our passing attack. I thought the running game was less impressive all things considered than our passing attack. There were a few occasions that our RBs needed to make an explosive run and it didn't get done.

6) Martez Ivey looked no better than Fred Johnson. Fred has taken a fair amount of criticism but Martez had a handle of impactful miscues that doomed the play. I expected Martez to play better and hope we can get contributions from Sandifer and Desir-Jones as well.

7) Antonio Callaway is elite. We need him badly because any team will have trouble matching up. He'll be playing football for a long time assuming he stays out of trouble.

8) Freddie Swain and Josh Hammond were impressive. I think both will be counted on this year, as well as Tyrie, given that Massey is out and neither fulwood or Worton have been dependable in the past.

9) The defense has lost some maturity. Between all the personal foul penalties and Tabor's suspension, it seems like the loss of Hargreaves, Bullard, and Neal will take a little time to recover from. I love the intensity but I hope the guys relax and play football and keep this team focused.

10) The offense looked out of sync at times but I expect them to play better next week. Del Rio started his first game in 4 years and we had a lot of new faces on the offensive side of the ball. I think the most important factor in our success is the ability to run the football.
