LSU at it again

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is launching a youth anti-vaping campaign that will
engage athletes at LSU and other colleges in name, image and likeness (NIL) deals. The campaign, which is the first state-funded NIL deal in Louisiana, will be funded by a settlement from Juul Labs, a company that makes electronic cigarettes. The money is required to be used to reduce vaping among teens and adults under age 21. The funds can
be used for research, education and vaping cessation programs, among other things. According to public records, the state so far has agreed to spend $281,000 on NIL deals with athletes, with $225,000 going to LSU athletes over three years. The rest will be paid to athletes at the University of Louisiana Monroe, Grambling, Northwestern, Southeastern
and McNeese.

Football If I Told We Would Be 8-5 back on August 1st With Our Schedule

Most would’ve been ecstatic. A lot of things we gotta fix, we need an offensive coordinator. But got admit, Billy did a hell of a job to be 8-5, especially given our start.

And with the addition of Dallas and our recruiting class, we get the right offensive coordinator and we may have something here.

Gator Perspective

This is the best I’ve felt about Gator football and basketball on Christmas Eve in well over a decade.

I have young kids. They’re finally asleep. Wife and I just finished putting presents under the tree. I poured some Basil Hayden. Life is great.

I never realized this, but part of my Christmas Eve tradition has been reflecting on the current Gator football and basketball teams. It’s a rare and calm moment when I’m not thinking about work or politics or other BS in the world.

It’s been a rough stretch for Gator fans since 2009. Sure, there have been some good moments. But they’ve been quickly erased by bad coaching hires, sharks, terrible offenses, terrible defenses, and coaches quitting on their teams.

But tonight, all that is in the rearview mirror.

We’ve got one of the hottest football teams heading into the offseason along with some heavy recruiting mojo.

We’ve got a basketball team that is as deep and void of any real deficiencies as dare I say the….nope, not gonna jinx it.

Gator life is good.

Thanks to Jason and all the insiders who make me feel like I have an inside track as to what’s happening with Gator Sports.

This is a very fun Christmas Eve.

P.S. there’s no prefix for Bourbon thoughts

A play that went unnoticed....

But shows where our program currently is and is headed. In the 1st half when we had an illegal shift and Bryce Lovett turned and grabbed Hansen by the shoulder pads and kind of told him to get his head out of his azz. That shows you where we are. We got young guys holding others accountable. There was no fighting or arguing just an accountability factor where players hold each other to higher standards. We got leaders in the right places (OLine, QB, DL and LB next year) which is similar to the 08' Gators. When players have a mutual respect for one another they are able to push each other to higher levels without fracturing a locker room. I know culture is often laughed at by the CJC on here but it's very important to winning football and I think Billy has the pieces in place. Next year can't get here soon enough!

Go Gators!
