It appears our starting center will be out again and Barber and Etienne are likely out also. Being banged up would explain how Barber has played since the Charlotte game. Vandy has a weak defense but you never know with this Gators team. Hopefully we sling it down field some and exploit that secondary like other teams have done.

Our defense needs to get back on track and limit this Vandy offense to 20 points or less. They don't have nearly the rushing attack they had last season. They have a couple of decent WRs though.

It will be closer than comfortable, say 24-17 or 20-17, but playing at home in a must win situation the Gators will prevail. Remember that we’re also without our most athletic deep threat Caleb Douglas. Fortunately we’re getting back Tre Wilson and Marcus Burke. But,
  • Will Billy Napier call for deep shots against the Commodores’ weak secondary?
  • If Barber is out, can Lyndell Hudson adequately protect Mertz? At least Graham much prefers rolling to his right.
  • Will the Gator defense a) get a pick or more, b) cause a fumble or two, and c) produce multiple sacks?
  • Does Billy have anyone on staff who can consistently count to 11 when deploying players on defense and ST units?

Hopefully Napier opens it up on this weak secondary and Mertz pulls the trigger more instead of settling for check downs too often. If you have a nice single coverage situation down the field let the ball go and give the receiver a chance.

The gator Cb sees his guy catch the ball and just stops and watches him run. Good god this is just a team that can’t get out of its own way.

Gator players you can’t jump the punt shield. You can’t use hands to the face to block or get off of a block. After the QB has thrown the ball you can’t go hit him.

These things should’ve been covered in August but apparently our really smart coaching staff neglected to teach you this.

Mertz needs 1 second to max 2 second plays ONLY!!! He’s gonna get cranked by a defender and the season is over! Let’s go GOOD PLAY CALLS PLEASE!!!!? And Go Gators!!

Mertz was efficient, Boardingham and Johnson had a great game. But the banged up offensive line wasn't very good. Got an absolute must win against an inferior team and next week's game at South Carolina is HUGE.

Our offensive line is not very good, said it weeks ago. It's the weakest part of our team.. Penalties are ridiculous and we can't recover from them on offense. Boardingham, Wilson III and Webb are some good looking freshman on Offense

Our passing offense is not good and I don't see us even beating SC or Arkansas unless defense is on that game or we can run all over them.

Our oline might be the worst in the league. Watching the GA qb stand back there with all the time in the world. Meanwhile we can't even give our guy 2 seconds.

He had more than 2 seconds on a lot of plays counting scrambling. The main issue to me is we just do too much dinking and dunking and that isn't going to cut it when the other team is scoring. When Mertz buys that time he needs to be more confident to go after plays when we have a chance down the field. Arkansas offense does look pretty bad against Ole Miss so far but I think most teams remaining will require us to do some real productive passing to win and it's hard to picture that based on the season so far.
