Just for some clarification, the SEC "eliminated" the rule of automatic sitting for an intra conference transfer, last year in 2021, so there is no such "rule" per se...

The only "restriction" moving forward is the Feb 1st deadline issue. All you have to do is declare and be in the portal prior to Feb 1st as it was written. This is what we will be dealing with most likely and it sucks because it seems like adding the cutoff date so much sooner(before spring ball at all SEC schools)...it effectively still acts as a barrier for kids wanting to transfer within the conference.

I wonder what the outcome will be if some SEC transfers apply for a waiver and state that it is unfair for the league to set a Feb 1st deadline when under the NCAA rules they would be eligible if doing so by May 1st. I'm not for removing the "rule", just be more reasonable and match the NCAA's date of May so that kids can make good decisions based on the most recent set of situations they are in(new coaches are always hired in De/January, rosters look different with seniors gone and early draft entrees gone).
