If our biggest donors stop writing checks we are clearly in deep, deep trouble. Only significant NIL dollars can stop the current downward spiral of this program. Need at last three or four big time transfer portal/NIL OL signees and several on the other side of the ball can truly keep the ship from sinking. Virtually every team we played dominated our OL. CBN won't be given the time to do it through HS recruiting given his first two years and our 2024 schedule. Look at last nights FSU game. FSU's biggest contributors were all transfer portal guys. We're not in UGA or Bama's situation - one or two transfer portal/NIL players won't get the job done. The big donors can do one of three things:
1) donate even more for NIL
2) use their donations for CBN's buy out after the 24 season and start over AGAIN
3) just walk away from the program
One last thought on NIL. Sites like this one dominate social media feelings/attitudes towards our football program and to a certain degree help to form the national perception of Gator football yet I assume that subscribers to these sites have virtually little or zero impact on Gator NIL contributions. As in real life, the big money folks will determine our future.
