No more Ukraine $$

In this case, we have villains vs villains. Yes, I put more of the blame on Russia and Putin but that fact alone doesn't make Zelensky and Ukraine heroes.

I do feel a great deal of sympathy for most of the civilians and even many in the Ukrainian military...but certainly not all.
Fair enough. I don't know enough about Ukraine/Zelensky to carry on an in-depth conversation. I simplistically see a bully (Putin) trying to take away something that is not rightfully his.

Bingo. Every time I ask one simple question, the left disappears.

The question?

If Texas seceded, and years later Russia and Texas were jointly funding biolabs (considering we just went through a pandemic where it looks like we helped fund covid), and on top of that Russia and allies were discussing making Texas part of their alliance…..what do you think the US would do?

There is a reason no one on the left answers this question.

I don't see your scenario as ever being remotely plausible. It doesn't deserve an answer.

Maybe the analogy flew over your head.

Let me help you.

In this scenario, Ukraine is Texas because Ukraine used to be part of Russia.

The United States is Russia (and vice versa) because the US is funding biolabs in what was formerly Russia (Ukraine) and the US was talking about making Ukraine and neighbors part of NATO.

So what I talked about happening in Texas, is what is happening in Ukraine. Got it?

Our propaganda arm just went to work. Bigly.

So Russia/Putin has a right to forcibly reclaim Ukraine because they used to be a part of their country, have biolabs, and doesn't want them to be a member of NATO?

What I am saying is….the US would be doing the same if the rolls were reversed. And the propaganda machine would have folks cheering it on. Just like they have folks cheering on Ukraine. This isn’t hard.

I mean, we invaded Iraq for WMD’s that didn’t exist. And the country supported it.

I'm still failing to grasp why cheering for a smaller country with a smaller military that hasn't done anything aggressive towards a much larger country with a much larger military, wrong?

I'm failing to see the propaganda that you speak of. Russia wrongfully invading Ukraine is a fact.

I with you 100% on the illegal invasion of the sovereign nation of Iraq. I didn't buy it because the lies from the Bush administration were ever changing. Not to mention that nary a single hijacker was of Iraqi descent. The majority of Americans bought it because they were angry and wanted revenge. That anger also allowed the Patriot Act to become law without proper vetting.

If you can’t see that the US would do the exact same thing Russia is doing now if the roles were reversed then I can’t help you. It sounds like you’re entrenched in a political position rather than reality. Bush will lie to do it, but not a dem. 😔

Hell, you had folks extolling that Ukraine was winning (the US media propaganda machine at work). Then intelligence documents were leaked Showing it was a lie, yet some were still defiant that Ukraine was winning. That’s political.

Bush, Obama, Biden are all on the same team. The Uniparty. Until more realize this, these games will continue.

Establishment that want to control us because they thing that they know what is better for America than voters do. Many in the FBI, DOJ politicians, etc
What's happening today has been in the works for decades. So many working class folks allowed themselves to be played by the Establishment who've been pillaging and plundering while equally poor ass folks fight against each other.

I will never buy a state seceding until it actually happens. Especially those states that are heavily reliant on the so-called evil government's financial assistance; those states that receive more than they give.

Again, the point misses you completely or you’re intentionally obfuscating. Be better.

I disagree that they are all on the same team. Only one of them has actually done what we're talking about.

Invading Iraq was about America being true to its form. It installed its preferred government, eventually turning on that government after they are no longer of use, sent in a superior military, attempted to steal it's natural resources, left it poor, destitute and broken.

In doing so, America purposely managed to create another enemy so it can continue to overfeed the Military Industrial Complex. America has always had a boogeyman so they can keep the masses distracted while pillaging and plundering. The latest boogeymen are the LGBTQ community and MAGA v Non-MAGA.

Our track record at stopping Russia and/or the spread of communism is awful.

Ukraine is not much better than Russia and certainly doesn't deserve to deplete our ammunition stocks or treasury.
Ahhh, we won that war long ago….

You are pretty spot on here...except for the reason we invaded. Saddam was violation UN resolution 1441 on a daily basis, shooting at our airplanes covering the no fly zones...and refusing to let us inspect biological facilities. And make NO MISTAKE about it...there WERE WMD's in Iraq.

This looks like an epiphany moment for Zelensky. Captions anyone?

@RussellCasse - there is now confirmation from MSM source of rampant corruption and in the economist today, they are saying that, outside of a technological miracle, there is no way to recover back the east block russian speaking parts of Ukraine.

It is time to let those go to Russia, if they want them, and in return, let the remaining part of Ukraine join NATO, if NATO wishes. (If we are spending this much money, they are already effectively part of NATO)

Shut the rest down, and focus on Israel, Taiwan and most importantly our SOUTHERN BORDER.

Speaker Johnson on Ukraine.

We can’t allow Vladimir Putin to prevail in Ukraine because I don't believe it would stop there,” Johnson said on Fox News' “Hannity,” referring to the Russian president. But he said, “We must stand with our important ally in the Middle East and that's Israel.”

"New House Speaker Mike Johnson spoke with Senate Republicans Wednesday about his controversial Israel-only aid package in an effort to gain their support, telling them that he wants to get additional aid for Ukraine passed, but the Israel aid will likely have to move through first and separately."

He does want to address the corruption and wants to have some accounting for how the money is spent

💯 percent agree.

Are you folks trying to tell me that prior to Ukraine our vets were doing great?? IF you are, you are totally delusional. the greatest crime in this country is the apparent lack off concern for our veterans. The Ukraine and now Israel are not the problem. The Ukraine is just another whipping boy for all you Republicans who can't get over not being in charge. If both parties would understand that both of their candidates suck we could maybe get someone we can vote for, Not against. In my opinion it has come down to trying to find a decent candidate and their isn"t one.

There is empirical evidence you could have housed those vets, and children with the money we have spent. Or at a minimum, put a massive dent in it.

But I think you’re helping make my point. It has been a problem for far too long. So why are we spending money elsewhere and not on this?
Why not clarify. Tf we have ignored the Veteran situation for years ( and we have ) Why act like the Ukraine is the problem of lousy treatment of our Vets.?

Clarify what? This administration is laundering money through Ukraine while vets are homeless and committing suicide. I would say that is a pretty big middle finger to vets while Joey bribes uses Ukraine as an excuse to enrich himself and his allies.

Nothing to clarify here.

I only replied because your comment was plaini B.S. You will have an answer for everything so I'm gone. Good luck with arguing with yourself Go find Ghost he fits right in with your thought process.

I certainly would not bet against the above.

One can make against and have arguments with Russell on various topics, but love of country and our vets is not one of them.

Weird. I thought this message board was a board where discussions were had, and people responded with their opinion (answers for everything).

I didn’t realize you just wanted me to roll over and agree with you.

As @grandhavendiddy alluded to, I agree the veteran problem has been an issue for quite some time. I will also tell you. that the treatment (time it took for treatment and benefits) was much improved under the last administration. They just were.

The issue I have is with folks that keep saying we can fix the vet problem while also focusing on BS like Ukraine or the VA being used to treat illegals, when as you already mentioned…this has been a problem for decades. So, if we could walk and chew gum at the same time, wouldn’t we have done so by now? Why is the issue getting worse? We are setting records for veteran backlogs for service, at a time where Suicides, Backlogs, and homelessness are setting records amongst veterans.

So then, shouldn’t we refocus and repurpose our resources since it’s apparent we cannot walk and chew gum at the same time?

You make it VERY obvious that you are out of touch a bit on reality, Jimbo. A little reading around here and you could EASILY see that we share your exact position on this subject. Republicans for the most part ARE HOLDING UP funding to Ukraine, and saying VERY LOUDLY that NO MORE MONEY until we get things right here in our own Country. What do you think "America FIRST" means? That is Trumps motto. Take your socialist/democrat glasses off, and study up some. You made it VERY obvious that you do not pay close attention to world events here. One other thing....Both former, and active military support Trump 70% to 30%. What does that tell you? And I will not speak for anyone else...but I 100% agree with you about Veterans, and am quite sure most of us do here. But AGAIN..STUDY UP on this subject. YOUR party is the party of ILLEGAL ALIENS OVER Veterans. You sound like one of us, but are 10 years behind of what is actually happening.
