I was told that going forward Florida is going to emphasize South Florida less compared to what they have done the last few cycles.
Judging by the offers out this week, a bigger emphasis will be placed on California.
Before the staff change, the Gators had one-third of their assistants - Ja'Juan Seider, Randy Shannon, Corey Bell as primary recruiters in south Florida and John Herron as basically their support staff member who was focused on that area.
As I pointed out in another thread (https://florida.forums.rivals.com/t...out-to-be-processed.64259/page-2#post-1193255), despite the focus on the area, in the last three cycles that Shannon has been on staff, the Gators really haven't gotten much of a return on their investment in the area.

South Florida is Palm Beach County down through Broward and then Dade. Here are the three cycles with Shannon on the staff.
Out of a possible top 60 players (top 20 per cycle) at the time of Shannon's exit Florida had eight of them (Thornton is no longer committed, so seven).
Of the eight, how many is he legitimately responsible for? Not Hammond or Wilson, who were legacy's. So now we are down to six remaining, who came to Florida simply because of Randy Shannon? I would have given Herron credit for what Florida signed out the area before I would Shannon.
