You have to give McElwain credit for last year's offensive recruiting class at least.

i never put a ton of stock into thee very first recruiting class for a coach because they have only 2-3 months to scramble a class together. Just not fair to judge based off of that. Even though landing 7 OL, fixing the depth issue on the OL, and landing CeCe and Zuniga were pretty good accomplishments for such a short period of time.

Still the next class tells you a lot. I know it was ranked over all like 12th or 13th, but we did land EIGHT 4 stars on the offensive side of the ball.

Plus we already have 5 true freshmen of offense either starting or playing pivotal roles and all 5 appear to have extremely high ceilings.

The 5 are...
Taylor
Perine
Hammonds
Swain
Cleveland

It is also plausible if not just flat out likely that Franks and/or Trask, Heggie, Massey, and Wells all end up good players on offense as well.

Look back on all classes. Even great ones only average about 8 good/great players total (both sides of the ball). Looks like we already have established 5 on offense in last years class with possibility of adding more.

That is pretty sweet. A few more McElwain classes and who knows what might happen.
