So, I've given up commenting in this forum, because it's a waste of my time trying to argue with press releases and because it's football season, but I just want to jump in on this topic. It is embarrassing across the board and actually I think a pretty representative snap shot of the farcical conditions of our press and politics.
The original controversy is stupid. Who cares if Trump said on August 29 or 30 or whatever that Alabama was threatened by Dorian? And of course, Trump's response was absolutely ridiculous, going in front of the press with a weather chart altered with a sharpie? I mean, that's some Dr. Strangelove shit.
And now the efforts on both sides to prove that they were "right" in this completely meaningless and manufactured controversy really reflect depths of ridiculousness that I used to have to watch the Simpsons to find.

BTW if it wasn't for Twitter or @urtren parroting what he saw alt-left randos posting on Twitter, I would have no idea what this is about. I still don't know for sure.
What I do know is that the left is outraged! President Trump used a sharpie! He altered an official government forecast! He broke the law! He's insane!
This isn't just @urtren saying this, it's people in media. Who are paid to cover the President objectively.
Most of America never has any idea what initial event happened to trigger the left's latest 'gotta get Trump at any cost' outrage. They just see kids screaming over nothing, and they tune you out.
