WRs Board

I believe this is the position we will learn the most about once the dead period ends.

I believe they have stayed in contact with Copeland. Not sure their stance on Schwartz.

The one kid this staff has shown a ton of interest in is Tommy Bush.

Marquez Ezzard is another WR to keep an eye on. He’s interested in us since we picked up Emory Jones.

WR's already on the 2018 Roster include:

Dre Massey 5-9 186 4.35/40 **** rsSr
Tyrie Cleveland 6-2 205 **** Jr
Josh Hammond 6-1 187 **** Jr
Freddie Swain 6-0 194 **** Jr
Rick Wells 6-0 202 **** rsSo (K-9 still suspended)
Kadarius Toney 5-11 194 **** So WR/RB/QB-wc
Daquon Green 6-1 195 **** rsFr

Tucker Nordman 6-1 190 rsJr WR/QB
Charles Nordman 6-0 194 rsJr WR

Newbees include:

#11 WR Van Jefferson 6-2 195 **** Jr - Brentwood, TN (MS xfer, signed)
Named to the 2016 Fr All SEC 1st Team and 3rd Team Fr AA.

Career: 21 Gms, 15 Starts - 91 for 999 Yds, 11 Yds/Rec, 4 TD's.
~ Seeking NCAA waiver to play in 2018. All Ms Sr transfers are automatically eligible to play.

Edit Addition - in a xfer from tOSU:
#6 WR Trevon Grimes 6-3 202 **** (247)
He was also an All State Track Hurdler at STA.
He can try for a family medical xfer sit-out exception I believe.

Committed, but not yet signed:
#112 WR Corey Gammage 6-2 188 *** 5.6 - Delray Bch, FL (#67 WR)
Offers: UF - AU, UK -- Mia, NCSt, IoSt, Syr, Rut, VaT, WVa, etc.

I'd still very much like to get Schwartz, as much for Track as for Football.
Copeland is beginning to seem like a questionable pickup, not a solid Gator type it seems to me.
Athletic - Academic - Character - Having one out of 3 is not going to be good enough in Mullen's 'TEAM' concepts, (I hope).
I want players that WANT and deserve to be here, not ones that need to be carried academically, or covered for socially...

According to ESPN, UF has many offers out to WR's, some already committed elsewhere and some not.

Emory Jones are like those awesome Clemson quarterbacks over the past six or seven years. They're accurate passers and awesome athletes. He should do really well and Mullen system.

They still need 2-3 WR's in the 2018 class, but they are already solid at RB with both high quality and great (5 deep) depth. BTW - All 5 of them are 4 Stars, so even the recruiting service dweebs approved of them.

2018 Gator RB's:

Thunder
Lamical Perine 5-11 218 Jr - Ala HS APB of the Year
2017 Rush - 136 for 562 Yds, 4.1 ypc, 8 TD''s - (tough short yardage)

Dameon Pierce 5-11 205 Fr
HS 2017 Rushing - 227 for 2,123 Yds, 9.4 ypc, 32 TD's

Lightening

Adarius Lemons 6-0 201 So
2017 Rush - 19 for 136 Yds, 7.2 ypc

Malik Davis 5-11 194 So (mid-season blown ACL)
2017 Rushing - 79 for 526 Yds, 6.7 ypc

Kadarius Toney 5-11 194 So (WR/RB/QBwc)
Rushing - 14 for 120 Yds, 8.6 ypc, 1 TD
Rec - 15 for 152 Yds, 10.1 yds/rec.
Pass - 1 of 2, 50%

Iverson Clement 5-11 199 Fr (RB/FS/KR/ST)
HS 2017 Rushing - 199 for 1,419 Yds, 7.1 ypc, 13 TD's
Off/Def/ST's - he put up those Yds while he never came off the field.
============

K-9 Jordan Scarlett 5-11 206 Sr - 5.0 ypc (still suspended indefinitely)
JMOHO as always,,, 3-4 burned bridges, needs to xfer or NFL because he won't beat out any of the above 3 primary backs for playing time. o_O
~ Toney 8.6 - Lemons 7.2 - Davis 6.7 - And even newbee RB Pierce would embarrass him.
