Simply put, this can't go on, this would be like it is forever, because it already has been... It's gotten worse, and worse, and now we are fielding our worst defense ever with it, just lost another game with them only scoring 19.. Mac has now lost two straight games in the Swamp, a can't happen for one, and should have been 3 to Butch, as he got out coached by all of them.. Worst start in 31 years

This same movie of every game, every snap, every penalty, every result will never change, and now we are stuck with another driskel out there that's even worse because he can't even run.

No one will support this any longer, this is the worst Gator team iv'e ever seen everywhere and the worst staff. Muschamp was better, and now it's regressed in year 3. Muschamp will beat this pussy staff and already has 5 wins. If tonight wasn't at the very least the death blow forever for any mac apologists to demand a change and have our football program be taken seriously and not the laughing stock of college landscape... Something has gotta be done by Steve or someone with the new AD, this is absolutely beyond embarrassing and they don't even try to win on either side of the ball...

I mean christ sake just get OBC to call up Bobby Stoops at this point and come on home where he started and made a name for himself and got his riches from Spurrier and being a huge part of bringing in our first Title.. Even just short term, anything but this. Everything about these guys are losers, they breed losers and weak players, and loser mentalities...

We are very fortunate not to be 1-5. The horseshoe has fallen out our ass. Mac will be here next season even if we lose out. He will blame injuries and suspensions. Plus Michi is right, too expensive to can him now.

He'll be back. But I won't be. And a lot of other people probably feel the same. I can't stomach watching this man barely beat bad teams then tear up after the game. Everything about him just screams soft.

We coach so scared with any kind of lead. I can't believe we have to watch this crap for another year.

An ugly loss to UGa and losing to Muschamp combine with the young guy next door at UCF lighting it up could make for an interesting dynamic

Here is the break down of the money from TG;

With all the extensions for assistants last year, here's what the total staff buyouts would look like if they fired the staff in 2017: $18.52 million.

After 2018, that number drops to $11.5 million. Every assistant is signed through 2018, with Shannon and Rumph signed through 2019.

Here are the numbers each coach would be owed after 2017. Figured posting this info will help people have a more realistic approach to things as the season progresses and the heat possibly intensifies.

Money owed following 2017 season*

$12,500,000 - Jim McElwain
$1,800,000 - Randy Shannon
$1,200,000 - Chris Rumph
$842,725 - Doug Nussmeier
$456,000 - Tim Skipper
$420,000 - Greg Nord
$355,000 - Ja'Juan Seider
$325,000 - Brad Davis
$325,000 - Corey Bell
$300,000 - Kerry Dixon

* If fired, McElwain is owed $2.5 million per year left on his contract.

I can't imagine they will can him the same year they extend him. They might as well paint "we don't know what we're doing" in the end zones in the Swamp. Unfortunately, eating the extension is probably the best of some bad alternatives. Worst case scenario is that they bring him back after 5 or 6 wins, just because of the buyout, and he figures out a way to weasel his way to 8 wins and they keep him for another year. We'll end up behind Florida Atlantic in state.

Muschamp left a copy of his offensive playbook on his old desk when he left and both Mac and Nuss are using it… I went back to when Muschamp was HC and believe it or not UF is running the same exact plays now as they were under Muschamp…

They need to stop this nonsense with these contracts… they need to start stipulating that if you don’t have a certain end of year record your pay goes down…These coaches are getting way way over paid…I know more high school coaches who work longer and harder than many in the NCAA

You guys had better pray for 6-5 or better. The way he has recruited in the first 3 years, if he loses Corral and the rest of the class, you guys are looking at a rebuilding job at UF I have not seen since Doug Dickey was canned.

I won't be either, I have too much self respect to watch this anymore.. There's no way to even lie to yourself to stay positive and support it, they are so actionless, emotionless and boring to watch.. Like the last 4 games, whether we win or lose makes no difference to me, both teams in all those games are losers regardless of the outcome.. I felt bad feeling no care or emotion a few weeks ago even being at the game being involved in the game as a supporter and fan even spending my own money going to the game.. But last night is by far the least iv'e ever cared watching a Gator game, felt like watching the zook years and late Muschamp teams.. It just doesn't matter, they are so badly coached winning or losing doesn't mean a thing, if you win it just helps keep them around to see more of this awfulness and coaching. I can't watch without hoping the players give up on them and help get them out of here, almost to the point of rooting for the opponent to make it happen...Im the biggest fanatic and grew up in Bama surrounded by everyone that knows im the biggest Gator fan ever that they ever meet or come across, love them so much it's unhealthy to my actual health and affects my everyday happnines and life.. IT's just not that way anymore because I know they are so bad it just doesn't matter what happens, it's a lose lose either way no matter how you view it or watch the games... Iv'e still watched all the games and even gone to one and spent a lot of money doing it to support my team.. I just can't care watching anymore or pretend to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I just see a train and feel nothing about it on either side either way.. My only concern is that Spurrier is not too old to care and do something about this for his school and salvage what he built and our Stadium, fanbase and expected level of play at the University of Florida.. We all know this has to be unacceptable to him now that he's involved in the program in his golden later years.. I'd be just fine with Stoops coming in now from Spurrier and with his help to get things back on track.. A good coach would and should want to come, the talent is there and they can get more elite ones coming in to turn it around instantaneously.. The entire problem at Florida is a coaching one, on game days. Not a hopeless years long rebuild like at places like UT, Arkansas and Ole Miss... We still have elite talent and more than we have overall in the last years of muschamp at least on offense, enough to bring in a good coach to win with what's on his roster immediately... I know that for sure

Muschamp left a copy of his offensive playbook on his old desk when he left and both Mac and Nuss are using it… I went back to when Muschamp was HC and believe it or not UF is running the same exact plays now as they were under Muschamp…

They are doing the exact same things with the exact same results and even worse in many cases overall.. Driskel was playing again out there last night, he looked exactly like him, running backwards out of bounds not throwing it away, lobbing up deep balls the only times we shouldn't be going deep and into 3-4 defenders, then the game clinching INT on the first play like he did against LSU 3 years ago. It's scary how exactly like Driskel this kid is at QB, and I called it months ago, I could see the loser mentality and scared shitbagness in his eyes and face.. He's a loser, that has no idea how to play the position, gets himself sacked and even runs into where the pressure is coming from, and it's all coaching.. Because they decided to put him out there unprepared and continue to leave him out there to look worse with each game and series, and each snap to snap situation... Kid is a clueless loser Driskel carbon copy made

No, we better pray we lose all the games and then the kids so they are forced to change this.. Winning games hurts everything, if UGA somehow chokes to us again I will be genuinely irate and no one will want to talk to me or be around me that day...

You can lose every single game this year and he is not going to be fired. Your best scenario is do well enough to keep this class reasonably intact and then can him next year. The roster is train wreck and UF really, really, really needs to keep Corral or you won't be staring in to 3 more years of darkness, you will be staring in to 5-10 more years of darkness. What top coach is going to take this roster right now?

We're staring at a 5 year rebuild regardless of whether this class sticks or not. His first few classes have been atrocious and even with this one there are holes all over the class. Still don't have a damn DT commit for example. He will kill UF for some time.

with this staff it doesn't matter how many corrals come anyway, it's a waste of time and they would have theirs wasted.. He won't be stupid enough to shatter his college career in the end of this by signing day...

This.

As an opposing fan, I always look to our rivals recruiting and how many big men they get.

Skill players, in this state, are everywhere, and even 3 stars can be special.

Big men, however, are what make or break your team, besides QB of course.

FSU has signed tons of supposedly highly ranked OL, but it just isn't translating . ( Trickett sucks ).

FSU DL , especially at DT, has been good . ( Odell Haggins good).

UF really better catch up this year or there will be big trouble down the line.

I would love for that to be true. Any chance a school out west like Oregon State would actually consider hiring Mac?

Yep they even made sure Franks wouldn't look bad to the fans in the Spring game with 1st string WRs going against walk on DBs on many plays and all that mess. Not going to say he is 100% as bad as Driskel but I think he may be pretty close doing the same mess. He hasn't turned the ball over as much but that might only be because Driskel was actually allowed to throw it over the middle a little bit while they appear to be calling plays to try to avoid that part of the field with Franks mostly like they know it could result in some turnovers.

I told you this yesterday, he knows this isn’t the place for him. Question is how do you retain a guy that doesn’t want to be here?

Yep but they don't want to pay all that money out after just extending him. It would be nice if Mac would leave with a negotiated 50% payout or something like that even if nobody would hire him as a head coach. Take a lower payout and go be an OC out west or something like that.

Would you leave that kind of money on the table?

The Oregon State coach did for some reason. It would be nice if Mac would do something like that also. As far as myself I might be willing to take a lower buyout if I was in Mac's position financially and the job was really getting to me.

Wishful thinking in my opinion. I would like to be wrong
not for nothing, but the guy doesn't appear to be particularly stable. How many times has he been sad cat? It is painful to watch one of his post games. or wept after a win? Maybe, psychologically, he could not take a very public firing. Not saying that is how it is going to play out but he does not appear to be like a lot of other SEC coaches. Maybe he doesn't want to go the route of Muschamp and be a coordinator for a couple of years...have to build back up to the HC position. If he is having doubts, this could be the way he saves face and doesn't have to take a step down to coordinator.

$12.5 million buys a lot of psychological therapy

He is miserable, everyone sees it. And I a sure there are schools out there thatwill pay him a couple million to coach. At some point his mental health may be more important than the money. I would not be surprised at all if he negotiated a buyout as opposed to a mid-season firing next year. But if the guy wants out get him the **** out of here.

Jimbo is not a top notch coach!!!! Jameis Winston
made him look great, and now there are no more
Jameis Winston's on his team.

Jimbo made jameis. Jameis has zero championships without jimbo. He was 29 and 1 under jimbo. Sorry baby gurl
