Finney-Smith and Allen each had a total of 7 shots in the game. Brandon Ramirez-Francis had the most shots in this game with 10, Chiozzo 8. I am incredulous that White chose to keep Ramirez-Francis in the game so long during a key stretch in the second half. How many times did he just go 1 on 1 and nobody else even touched the ball on the possession. I was sure White would pull him immediately, but he kept him in the game. I have no explanation for that decision. Have to give Vandy credit for playing the game of their lives, but for Christ's sakes, making an 85 ft shot at the end of the half, and then again throwing up a terrible 3 point shot as the clock expired and it banked in. Those are 2 of the luckiest shots I have ever seen. Adding salt to the wound, you had a small forward coming from nowhere to block a 6-10 center trying to lay the ball in after a great pass by Hill that led to the 85 ft heave. Not sure why Hayes was not in for that play, who would have dunked the ball. But Ramirez-Francis' extensive play in such an important game was maddening. I am a fan of White, but I will never understand why he would allow one of our worse shooters to have the most shots in the game. I would have had his ass on the bench after the first bad shot (although, as usual, he also missed wide open 3 pointers). Tenn was a horrible game, but this was probably the most disappointing of the year.
