Like McElwain had promised Tuesday, the team ran what they call the Gator drill, which is an expanded version of the Oklahoma drill but got DBs vs. WRs and TEs vs. LBs involved with DL vs. OL. It really got all parties excited and juiced up with the full pads on, according to a source. A lot of short yardage situations as well Wednesday. Later on, the team practiced some returns using the full kickoff unit. Overall, Wednesday was a very physical practice throughout.
