If you look at this cynically, it's really both sides playing the same game, and Americans foot the bill.
The left engages in corruption.
The right calls them out on their corruption.
When the right calls them out on their corruption, that does two things:
1 - It gets voters on the right especially outraged. So we give funds to support the candidates on the right that are calling out the corruption of the left and how they will STOP THEM!
2 - It sends a signal to our enemies that our politicians are for sale. So for corrupt politicians, the right complaining about them actually gets them more 'business'.
The end result is the right does nothing but yell and bang their fists on the table, which does nothing to address the corruption, it simply gets them on the radar of more of our enemies.
The politicians on the right get more money from fundraising, the politicians on the left get to more money from more corrupt deals.
Americans on BOTH sides pay the cost. We never seem to learn.
