Sorry I have been cleaning house and taking stuff to the dump and getting shelving from Lowes. just got home and walked the dogs, so haven't watched any football today. Dunno if UK won, or how FSU is doing yet. Am I mistaken in thinking that Norvell was coaching up the FSU team for the bowl game? Or did he stick it out with his previous team until bowls are over?

Memphis hasn’t played good defense under Norvell. I’m very surprised he brought the DC with him to FSU. At least I think that is what I had heard.
Because the DC improved them pretty dramatically as well at his previous job at Marshall.

He took them from 89th to 50th. Pretty good turnaround. He did a solid job his one season at Marshall too. Good news is going into the ACC not much difference in level of competition. Looks to be a good young coach.

Well honestly from what I saw in that game, FSU was outplaying ASU easily. It was 5 turnovers from Blackmon that really killed any chance of the win in the 2nd half. Always hard to get a win in your bowl game during a transition year.
The noles have a silver lining in this in at least knowing they got rid of WillieT. Norvelle is a definite upgrade.

I think the dc improved them from the yr before. They werent a top defense but an improved one. Apparently he was Norvells first choice

While they battle to elevate to the Belk Bowl to play Kentucky, he could have had Memphis challenging for the Peach Bowl against Georgia, Florida, Alabama, LSU or Auburn.
He had better get FSU back to Clemson level, otherwise what a waste. Other than the Gator game I had not watched them much this season. Much more undermanned than I thought. Will FSU fans be patient for TWO more mediocre seasons?

He could also go 8-5 and not improve the team one iota.
I think 8 and 5 is likely... The main thing that is hampering us is crap QB play. Yes, our o line is bad but the plays are still there. If Jameis was our QB this yr we are 10 and 2 or 11 and 1. Its all about the QB. Slim is trash

We were leading Virginia until 4 min left in the game.... Jameis would have smoked them. Also, the game with UF would have been extremely close. Blackman missed 3 tds in that game. A great QB is the equalizer. In your 4 and 8 seasons... If you had tebow, you easily win 9ish games. In 2014, our team was similar to this yr just no jameis.

Guy from Stanford is the other one we are pursuing. Our o line has 2 good "fsu caliber" players. The problem with the other 3 is they need to be at least avg. They arent. We need 3 "at least avg" players. Now we may have a few young guys who can play next yr but we need a starting 5. Our QB situation is bleak because of Willie buffoon Taggart. He never signed a high school QB. So we have slim and 2 freshman. That is going to be our biggest issue. We have talent at WR and TE. Runni g back is wait and see. Got the guy from a and m, laborn (5 star) and toafili who is a freshman 4 star. I dont see our offense drastically improving this yr unless one of the freshman QBs are really good. Our defense has tons of talent, just need to develop the talent
