Yep. I still think Elons meeting with Schumer a few months back had less to do with AI, and more to do with getting Elon in line.

BTW note how those of us not on the left can evolve our thinking toward ideas or people as we encounter new information. Elon's first few moves were met with overwhelming praise here from those of us not on the left.
Over time, he's made more questionable calls, and most of us have changed our opinion of him as a result.
People not on the left do this all the time. We encounter new information, we change our minds.
Our posters on the left here never do this. Look at all the new information we have learned about covid and the dangers of the shots over the last 2 years. Yet the same posters who were shot cheerleaders in 2020 and 2021 are still shot cheerleaders today. Not a single one of them has softened their love of the shots, in fact publicly on this board, most of them defend them now more than they ever did.
You cannot learn anything if your mind is closed to new information that doesn't match your preconceived notions or beliefs.

Nailed it. Hell, I joined twitter after he bought it. I joined just to support the idea of free speech. I did so wanting to believe, but with skepticism.
At this point I have seen enough to have formed the opinion that it doesn’t pass the smell test.
That said, I also was fortunate to be in a position close to 2 decades ago to see too much behind the curtains of Facebook taking off. So, Admittedly I was a little jaded going in, but had hopes.
Oh well.
Remember this about great businessmen...they will do ANYTHING to help their businesses. Its ALL about the profitability of their businesses.
