Good news here as well. The D took a hit when we lost him. He’s good against the run and he is a leader and he’s a good tackler. Him and Hopper at LBer is a good start.

Billy seems to making quite the impression on the returning players after their meetings. If he gets enough to stay he may field a decent team next year
We actually have potential to put a pretty good defense on the field next year. I think we are more talented on that side of the ball than the offense for sure. Some weaknesses that need to be addressed at DT and safety.
This is great news. He was our best defender, but more importantly he was our best leader.
True or not remains to be seen, maybe by the O&B game....

That's been the weak link on offense for going on a decade now imo....
DT is a HUGE weakness. That HAS to be shored up through the portal. If we can establish a good defense, it will give our new O time to grow and maybe get to 9 wins.

Well, we'll have to wait at least until the O&B game to get a better fix on who plays, and at which positions they will play at. Many of the roster DB's can play both safety and corner. DE's that might move to DT or play both.
