To those who played today...major props! Went out the right way and hopefully this win gives us some momentum in recruiting. According to reports Durkin gave those players the choice to play or not and they really didn't have anything to play for being in a minor bowl game. But they came out and played hard all game. Guys like Humphries, Fowler, etc.

The other guys like Jones and Debose though...good riddance. Jones sat over there on the sideline with a towel on his head refusing to play because he's protecting his draft stock, as if he's a 1st round pick or something. Absolutely pathetic. They quit on their teammates and deserve no respect. Glad we're moving on from some of those guys.

And although I won't be sad to see him go, major props to Driskel as well. I mean the dude is transferring I'm pretty sure he had zero interest in playing. Yet we inexplicably put him in the game even before Harris went down. He didn't move the offense but he didn't make a disastrous mistake either. He was basically put in a no win situation and didn't melt down. Credit for that.

More than credit. If he is feeling abused by Gator fans (which he has been) he could easily have just airmailed a couple of balls to ECU players and torpedoed the game for us. Considering his resume nobody would have believed he did it on purpose.

(On the other hand, he DOES tend to throw to the other team when aiming for our guys, maybe he was aiming for theirs...)

I'm conflicted on this. If I had one shot at a pro contract, not sure I would risk it playing in the Birmingham bowl. Props to the guys who played though, particularly fowler, who put on a mf'ing show.

Fowler had more reason that anybody to not play as a guaranteed top 15 type pick, yet he went out there and gave it his all. Likewise for guys like Bullard and Morrison. Jones is not even highly regarded so I'm not sure what draft projection he was protecting, it's just selfish. Regardless of where I'm projected to go I couldn't sit on the sideline and watch my teammates give their all with not a care in the world. Guarantee NFL people won't look favorably on it. He quit on his team.

yep, and Fowler certainly proved his worth. Guys kept going down and other guys kept stepping up, at one point we had Ivie, Bostwick, Willis, and McAlister along with Anzalone and McMillian on the field together for an extensive number of plays

Good post Oozie. I believe that Fowler actually improved his stock with yesterday's performance. Those guys went out with class.

I think fowler improved his stock as well, and he had the most money to lose. It shows you what kind of competitor he is, and he was probably the mvp of that game.

But fowler would get drafted even if he blew out his knee. If matt jones blows out an acl, his football days are over
