Ummmmmm....wow....

This team takes me back to the "salad days of my youth".
Yeah I just almost quoted Shakespeare. But honestly I never had more fun with college football than I did in the early '90s. Before we won our first NC. When things with Spurrier were fresh and new and you never knew what you might see next. When every win was special because some were unexpected. And the pressure of expectations didn't exist.
This next couple of years could be a lot of fun. Here's to hoping so. The climb up is always better than the trying to maintain. When you expect to always win and you're not satisfied when you don't win pretty enough and every loss just crushes you and ruins your season. Like 2009 for us.

I get what he's saying about 09 though. It was a grind. Wasn't any fun. Put urban in the hospital. Just pressure to be perfect. We went 13-1 and all I ever remember about it is that Tebow threw for a bazillion yards in the bowl game and I'm pissed we didn't play that way all year b

Gator fans still bitching about 2009. Shake my head.

Oh come on man.

My point was that the expectations were so high, the game play each week struggled in an...awkward way....

It just wasn't "fun." It was a complete championship or bust season and everyone knew it, players and coaches included.

We would win a game and go "okay good now just get to the championship and end this thing" every week.

The feeling I've had the past few weeks is something I haven't felt since the post "Tebow speech" days.

There's real hope and optimism again. We can enjoy a win and have to out-think ourselves.

It's a little scary that me and Danny are so simpatico tonight. I may need to reevaluate my life choices.......

You can't fault a guy for wanting Muschsmp to succeed.

I only ever said that those teams had a lot of issues across the board and I hoped that 2012 was a sign of success we could build upon. 2013 I still feel justified in being frustrated that we had such devastating injuries that we couldn't know what the truth was.

All-in-all, I'm an optimist and have no problem changing my viewpoint as I get more facts.

Gotta say though...thus far content that my feelings about McElwain and Grier were right from the get-go.

Yeah I guess we did find common ground with McElwain. He was sort of an unlikely candidate to begin with for a lot of people. But when you looked at who was out there I definitely thought he fit the best at Florida.
To be honest, while it's true I didn't want a defensive coodinator head coach from the very beginning. And I still contend a defensive HC just doesn't fit at Florida. My main problem with Muschamp was personal I guess. There was just something about that guy that just made me want to punch him in the face. Right or wrong, that's how I felt.
Fwiw I'm glad we're on the same page now. Like I said before, our recent struggles have made the success much sweeter

You and me brother, you and me. Hell, I hated Muschamp after I heard his first press conference. But I wanted him to succeed and prove me wrong and sometimes cautiously supported him. I happily changed my opinion after 2012. Then the wheels feel off.
