UF lands OL Noah Banks

He was just named a JUCO All-American earlier today as well. Another great addition to the recruiting class.

Mullen understands that to compete for championships you MUST have quality in the trenches. Good get.

Nice! The more the merrier. Good to see us filling gaps with jucos, that's planning.

Did he go the Juco route alot in Starkville? I know some people have a negative feeling about coaches depending on JUCO players but I just care about wins and doing it the right way.

No not typically. Maybe 1 or 2 a year at the most. He had 1 JUCO committed in WR Guidry in the current MSU class.

I didn't think so, somebody told me he was a poor recruiter. They used the whole" He depends on JUCO and transfers" argument.

Not to parse words, but I would not call that "planning". I call that filling in short term immediate needs. The 'planning' will be seen with the overall recruiting results for signing day in February and the first full couple of recruiting cycles. Mullen is a smart guy and knows the type of players he needs. Going into the juco ranks is mostly a stop gap measure if something fails along the way. Nothing wrong with that here or there as needed. The key to his planning will be with the high school recruits and how they fill the needs over their 3-5 year careers at UF,,I am interested to see how the '18 class finishes up in February and, more importantly, what he does with the '19 class. '19 is shaping up to be an interesting year for recruiting with so many new and/or top notch coaches in the Southeast. Mullen, Richt, WT, Smart, Swinney, Saban, etc...gonna be fun.
