Sure seems like it to me? If you are a disgruntled QB and want P.T. it doesn’t seem like they are turning anyone down for immediate playing status.

Fields, Hurts etc.

UF Protal departures: Not QB's....

OG/C T.J. McCoy to UL
DE Antonneous Clayton to GaTech
WR D.Green to Murray State
LB K.Johnson in portal
And now:
DE/DT Malik Langham rsFr puts his name in the xfer portal. -- He apparently wants to be a starter right now, not a backup with future starter potential.

The fact that Clayton and Langham both choose to xfer out, should tell people what those two think that the UF depth/talent at DE/DT will be like for 2019... o_O

Concussions have changed the nature of the sport. Kids are not willing to wait around to develop their game and hit the league as a forth or fifth year player, when one bad head shot can end a career.

We've gotten a few kids through the process and lost a few. I don't like the way it's turning into free agency and think that unless there's some kind of serious hardship or they drop down to FCS or a lower division they should sit out a year. But not going to lose any sleep over it one way or another. I'll pull for the Gators in all sports all the time and for the kids who choose to be at UF.

Overstated. You can actually go find the % of transfers by year and it hasn’t really changed that much. It only seems like free agency because it’s much more publicized now. In the past some 3rd stringer would transfer and nobody would know until fall came and he wasn’t on the roster. Now everybody knows when a kid is in the portal.

None of the above xfers are leaving because of UF as a school, nor because they have any problems with the coaching staff. They are leaving due to the quality of the depth chart. In other words, they are leaving for playing and/or starting time. This is evident by their own statements in their announced xfer decisions. o_O

I understand and have no ill will towards any of them. Good luck to them at their next gig...

'Just Looking' --- Starting Oct. 15, 2018 student athletes were allowed to enter their names into a transfer portal, which allows schools to initiate contact with them. While a player entering their name in the transfer portal does not mean a player intends to transfer, the portal's presence has given athletes options they didn't have before. Athletes can pursue and talk to other schools without restriction, all the while remaining enrolled at their present school.

There are risks. --- Players who enter their names could potentially lose their scholarship's at semester's end, and a program is under no obligation to keep player on the roster that explores transfer options. Additionally, any non-graduate who opts to transfer must still sit out a season due to NCAA transfer rules unless granted a waiver. For a full explanation of what the transfer portal is and how it works (I promise nobody is actually transported to a different dimension) check out this in-depth explanation.

Unless you graduate or move divisions I think you should have to sit a a year, without losing eligibility. That's not too much to ask and still give people choices. Do away with any "hardship" type crap and regardless of reason...just sit a year.

I have no problem with early graduates transferring. It's an incentive to those who can accomplish such. Also a true hardship is understandable. Things such as family illness and the such. However I am very aware of the hardships being some BS as of late.

Disagree on the above because enforcement on what constitutes "hardship" is where the NCAA can't be trusted. Just go the no-fault route...if you graduate you can transfer/start immediately. If you want to transfer for any reason, take a year off - no exceptions.

Make the rule simple and enforce it - life's not that hard lol.

But the perception is changing. If we keep this route, the % will rise moving forward.
