Just a general FYI....
Eleven top-five team finishes - including men's outdoor track & field's third consecutive NCAA title - propelled Florida Athletics to a fourth-place finish in the 2023-24 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup final standings.
Florida is the only program among the nation's top 10 athletic programs each of the last 40 seasons.
Any maybe..........you should follow your own advice.Players often leave with a coaching change, and some times for good reasons.....
And maybe they should have given him a 50+ staff (recruitiing) like the next guy got.
And maybe Socialist-U should have agreed to 'Fill the SWAMP,' like aTm did and got away with.
Any maybe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, we should all just move on to 2024..................
Cupboard was bare when Napier took over. I agree this will be the most talent he's had.
Gee, look who it was that started with this crap yet again, while I was posting position room depth for 2024....Any maybe..........you should follow your own advice.

In the 2023 season, the entire Gator defense had a gran-total of 3 Interceptions.
So, just how bad was that you ask???
Past individual Gator interceptions in a single season:
9. Keiwan Ratliff - 2003 >>> He also set the school record for punt return yards
and tied the single-game record for interceptions, with 3.
8. Ryan Smith - 2006
7. Will White - 1990 > 14 career > 3x All SEC 1st Team
7. Randy Talbot - 1974
7. John Clifford - 1970
6. Lito Sheppard - 2000 >> + 5 defended, 2 FF, 1 FR
5. Ahmad Black - 2008 > 13 career
We are on the list of teams that could win it all due to our blue chip ratio. We are #11 in the country on that.
IF,,, If the coaching staff +50 were anywhere near the top in the country, then the above might make a difference....
Jus-sayin'
That seems a good bit pessimistic to me dude.Well even though the ratio is high I think we only have 2 starters on this team right now opposing coaches would say we have to really account for this player when calling plays or playing defense. Devin Moore and Wilson. I don't think the others are good enough to alter the other teams approach.
That seems a good bit pessimistic to me dude.
Looking back at the Gator 1st & 2nd year players that have started and/or played and been game and season changers in the past. Emmitt Smith comes to mind in a long list of others, and you never know who they will be, 3-stars as often as 4-5-stars.
Guys that I'd add to your 2, not that they are the only other possibilities for 2024....
#1 QB-dt DJ Lagway 6-3 241 ***** - Gatorade PoY
#10 OT Fletcher Westphal 6-8 325 **** - Va HS PoY
Trifecta of newbees at RB - Webb-Baugh-Daniels
And a 4-Way of newbees at WR - Mizell-Jean-Abrams-Hawkins
#1 EDGE LJ McCray 6-6 274 *****
#1 LB Myles Graham 6-1 222 ***** - Also T&F
FS/QB Gregory Smith III 6-3 209 **** - Also B-Ball & T&F
NT Michai Boireau 6-5 382 ****
Others including the xfers could surprise us, and the 2024 starters are yet to be determined.
The Coaching, System, and Game Day Play Calling is still in question.....
None of our starters except those 2 imo. As for most of the others you listed I doubt the real young guys get too much playing time early. It's crazy when you look at the all SEC teams listed by these places and KY is probably in front of us there. Crazy we are at that point now.
So, you think that you already KNOW who the starters are going to be at the end of Fall practice???
List um up for us,,, and I'll consider them and maybe reconsider...

Sorry feveredbrains, but I asked you first.... 🤓Alright who do you think will change the depth chart to start after Fall practice that didn't already earn it in by the end of spring?
Sorry feveredbrains, but I asked you first.... 🤓
Are you claiming that the season starters are all set in stone post O&B game?
Ignores the late arrivals, both HS recruits and the xfers, plus the summer programs and team training, not to mention the 4 weeks of Fall practice....
Now, you list your Spring (coming season) starters, and I'll try to list those that are in solid competition for those positions.
I bet I can tell you the starters basically for game 1 right now (well at least who will play the most snaps at the position in the game) except for maybe TE which the play call will determine which of the 2 or if both are in there. Name me the late transfer or true freshman you think has a chance to play the most snaps at their position in the Miami game over the spring practice players?
Edit: I forget about Badger as I could see him possibly starting against Miami.
This seems to me to be yet another bogus off-season article claim:
"Perhaps no one will reap the rewards more (of Boardingham at TE) than running back Montrell Johnson. Despite leading the team in yards and carries, Johnson will enjoy more touches since Trevor Etienne bolted for Athens and the University of Georgia."
Florida Gators Offense set to Shine in 2024
The Florida Gators have the scheme and the personnel to have an outstanding offense in 2024.www.si.com
Why would Etienne leaving mean more carries for Johnson???
It's not like the Gator's RB room is now empty, or lacking quality talent.
In fact, I'd say that the RB room is now more talented than before he left.
2024 Roster:
RB Treyaun Webb 5-11 215 So **** - 6.3 ypc, SEC HR
---
RB/WR/QB/DB Jadan Baugh 6-1 237 Fr **** - HS Sr, 1,583 Yds, 14.0 ypc, 19 TD's.
RB KD Daniels 6-0 196 Fr **** - HS Sr 2,737 Yds, 9.5 ypc, 29 TD's
---
RB Cam Carroll 6-0 227 rsSr - Tulane xfer
RB Ka'Kovi Jackson 5-11 218 rsJr - Coahoma CC xfer
---
RB Anthony Rubio 5-9 180 rsFr - PWO - HS 6.4 YPC, 11.18 100M
=====
While Trevor was a decent RB, he wasn't anything 'special' imoho....
RB Trevor Etienne 5-9 205 So **** - SEC HR
Fr/So - 249 for 1,472 yds, 5.9 ypc, 14 TD's
Rec - 21 for 172 yds, 8.2 yd/rec, 1 TD
JMOHO, but I believe that both Baugh & Daniels were better RB's coming out of HS, and neither appears to be a 'drama queen'.....
PS -- I'd still much rather have a 3 RB committee with 2,000+ yards, than one RB with over 1,000 yards....
I love these posts: hey you never know when a freshman is going to come in and make a difference. Why just look at… Emmit Smith 40 years ago. Don’t forget about Percy. These guys are just crawling out of the woodwork. That seems a good bit pessimistic to me dude.

Maybe you should do what I do and look a little deeper than just their Ht-Wt-ranking.Because Etienne was basically a co #1 RB. Short of injury you would think Johnson gets more carries this season. Your list all the depth at these positions and make it sound like everyone has all-SEC potential. We won't know for a while.
CBN needs 8 wins this year. Not sure 7 will cut the mustard.Yep a Miami loss would likely be fatal to Napier short of Lagway taking over and getting a 6-6 record (I highly doubt 6-6 with Mertz starting the whole season would save him). 2 other games that losses would be very hard for him to overcome are UCF and KY.

I'm telling you guys that Billy isnt going anywhere because if Billy leaves then Lagway will bolt also. A 7-5 year and I'm fine with that or even 6-6 and we get a bowl game.

Just throwing this out there for comments....
Napier's replacement, IF they bomb in 2024? --- WTF???
Lane Kiffin or Jedd Fisch?
Most seem to think that Scott Stricklin should go first, or at the same time....
