Not the states themselves...the inhabitants of deep blue cities who dems bribe for votes, are takers. Dem elites are not. They just want subsidies for their Teslas and solar panels so they can virtue signal. Dems need the minorities, poor. victims, dependent and downtrodden for their votes. Last I checked Dem bribes cost us money and Republican policies allow us to keep more of what we earn, keep our cities, counties and country safer and free. But maybe that's just anecdotal. Since we have a summer home in a blue state, we have a bit of a unique viewpoint of both.
Considering, that most R presidents since 1980 get us in a recession, sure. Considering, that most D presidents since 1980, create more jobs, sure. Considering, that most R led states, have a higher crime rate, sure, Considering that more R states are in poverty, sure. 911 did happen under R leadership? I could be wrong.
Because of immigration and especially illegal immigration, who (for now) tend to vote for more government support because, very rationally, they need it to support short term needs.
